The 2nd Amendment exists to protect the 1st and all other amendments, and to allow the people, in the extremist of cases, the ability to take back their government. It isn’t really about modern day hunting as the vast majority aren’t doing it for their normal food supply.

Methinks there’s a large contingent that WANT confiscations just so they can rail against them. The logic of the lead post reflects this mindset.
There is nothing indicating Biden will run in ‘12, nor that he will do so on a platform of going house-to-house to confiscate firearms. And of course any politician stupid enough to try, and powerful enough to make it begin, would find such an operation shut down real quick.
Yes I know it happened in post-Katrina NOLA. That was a small area under extreme circumstances, and the perpetrators didn’t get very far (and, interestingly, it seems nobody pulled a “FMCDH”) before others in government made it stop.
