Pissant would likely be disappointed if he didn’t, and rightfully so.
While I don’t think any action is going to affect this administration, I hope that it serves the purpose of shining a light on this so that in future elections, this will be settled far in advance of the general election.
Trust me-there are people who are going to clamor to change Article II section 1 of The Constitution to allow ANYONE to run for the Office of The President of the United States regardless of national origin. Mark my words. It was put there for valid reasons by the framers, and those reasons are valid today.
We ignore it at our peril.
Thanks for the post! I knew there was a mention about a co-sponsored bill requiring proof of eligibility for future presidents. Do you have a link to the thread or an article? I cannot find it.
See #22 — I didn’t think to look @ rw+b’s sign on date.
:-p
link?
Nevermind, I FINALLY found the title.
The Presidential Eligibility Act
Great post!
Welcome!!!
Link to what? Topix?
Topix is a very large unmoderated forum.
It is for entertainment only, as it is full of
young Marxist kids and idiots.
Also, ...As the Huffington Post is correct. It is the afterbirthers who are weird. Only someone who is tying themselves in mental knots can defend Obama’s fighting the release of his records all the way to the Supreme Court.
I recognize RW&B Dog’s screen name from the Plains Radio Board. He’s a dyed-in-the-wool patriot. He probably doesn’t know how Free Republic works yet.
Thanx Sneakers. I didn’t see anything wrong with the post itself. Pissant’s #10 made me wonder about the intentions.
I don’t blame him for being suspicious. I would have been, too, if I didn’t know who the guy is.
66,000 to the supreme court is very low, I’m writing my letter today.
Justice (or Chief Justice) (Justice’s Full Name)
Supreme Court of the United States
One First Street N.E.
Washington, DC 20543
John G. Roberts
John Paul Stevens
Samuel A. Alito, Jr.
Antonin Scalia
Anthony Kennedy
Clarence Thomas
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Stephen Breyer
Sonia Sotomayor
That is the real issue. There are actually two questions to be answered. First: "Is someone whose father (or mother) was not a US Citizen at the time of their birth considered a 'Natural Born Citizen', as that term is used in the Constitution". If the answer to that is "No", and I believe it is, the the related question of "where was BHO Jr born" need not be asked. If the answer to the first question is "yes", then the second question must be asked. The term "birther" mostly applies only to those who are focused on the second question. I say mostly, because the long form, or a true certified COLB, would provide the answer to "Who's his daddY", which goes a long way to determining if the second question "where was he born" needs to be asked at all.
Mental exercise time.
If someone starts challenging me on BO's eligibility issues (the last person who tried to pick a fight with me started arguing "but his mother was a citizen"), I think I might well ask, "How would YOU go about proving that YOU'RE a natural-born citizen of the United States?"
I don't think this is an ad hominem attack. I think it might force some people to reconsider what it is they are defending and what their definition of terms is.
yeah, that’s the word I was trying to think of!! my brain had run out of ammo last night, I was hopeless....
