Canada-Top doctor says system 'imploding'

SASKATOON–The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says Canada's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care, and she adds that physicians from across the country – who will gather in Saskatoon today for their annual meeting – recognize that changes must be made.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doig told The Canadian Press.

I saw reps from aarp and the ama on Fox news this afternoon and as a LSU Medical school grad in July 1962 all I can say is that the ama and aarp are nothing more than pimps for the dnc with their propaganda. The ama and aarp does NOT represent me!!! nor the bulk of doctors and senior citizens. All I can say to these miserable organizations is that they CAN GO TO HELL!!

I read/hear anecdotes all the time from Americans who say they received all this good care in Canada when they were sick, and didn't have to pay for it, yada yada yada. So what is the real story--if you're American and get sick in Canada do they treat you or not?
