(IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu expressed his shock and concern Saturday night in response to the lynching of a 59-year-old Jewish man at the Tel Baruch beach Friday night by a gang of intoxicated young Arab men from the village of Jaljulya. A 17-year-old girl from Kfar Saba and a 19-year-old female from Petach Tikvah were with the gang.
The prime minister told Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonvitch that he was "shocked and worried" by the recent surge in murders around the country. Seven people have been murdered in the past two weeks, including two in a homosexual club two weeks ago.

And it should be punished accordingly.
The Religion of Peace strikes again.
Funny how the local mullahs are not angry at the fact that the perps were drunk.
Good grief. That’s all he can say?
Good grief. Thats all he can say?
How about a bunch of F-16’s strikes against the Irani nuclear facilities. One can only hope.
That would be nice. Or even a serious condemnation of the people who killed this poor guy. But Arabs are a protected class, all their misdeeds forgiven or politely ignored.
Outrage would probably be a more productive emotion.
Odd use of the term "lynching." This sounds more like a guy running afoul of a gang and getting beaten to death, not the semi-vigilante aspect of lynching, at least as the term is used in this country.
What shocked me is that two Jewish girls were in the company of the gang. What on earth were they thinking? Were they trying to show how ‘progressive’ they were, or get back at their parents for being too controlling, or both? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
But wait, that’s racist! No. It’s recognizing reality. What they did to poor Mr. Karp, now THAT’s racist, and those girls were a part of it. I want to vomit.
The word “lynching” in Hebrew is not the same as in English. It was borrowed from the English, but it means any kind of mob attack resulting in death. I wouldn’t be so quick to look on this as a racial attack. These were young guys who were drunk and so were the girls with them, who happened to be Jewish. Israel is an open society, people mix with whomever they want. The victim could have been anyone, Jew, Arab, or tourist. Just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“And it should be punished accordingly.”
Yea....get out that really big bulldozer and take out their village....
Israel is an open society, all right. And people mix with whomever they want. And they should have enough sense on their own to stay away from Arab teens, drunk or otherwise. I would say it was racial, because it’s traditional among Muslims to violently beat and murder any dhimme (non-believing peon) who dares get uppity with believers, for example by speaking up when one of them makes an indecent remark about his daughter, never mind that they were violating their own religion by drinking. This impression of mine is further reinforced by the fact that they slapped the girls around when they tried to stop the attack.
This is racism, pure and simple. How dare this old Jew talk back to them? If you view someone as subhuman, the smallest slight has to be severely punished, to teach him his place. The fact that they didn’t use a noose to accomplish the murder is nit-picking.
The girls should have known better, just as a black girl in the segregated south would have known better than to go out cruising at night with some white boys from the wrong side of the tracks.

Not much to add. I'm glad they seem to have caught the killers. Our President understands Muslim culture, having been immersed in it on three continents, so no surprist for the White House peacemakers
Prison is all they will get in Israel.
Crickets from the White House.
Thx.
Prison is fine by me, preferably for life among the most hardened bad-a@#es that ever committed a felony, who will promptly turn them into women. Collective punishment against a village or the entire Arab population of Israel, as some in this thread have advocated, is wrong (damn!).
Those girls, however, truly infuriate to me. My own daughter, during her two month stay with us, ran around late at night, too. But she stuck to hanging with the wrong Jewish crowd, knowing full well that the Arabs in Hebron and several nearby villages belonged to an entirely different society, in which she would not have been safe, and in fact would have been scorned by them merely for making the experiment. Despite talk of how “open” Israeli society is, I don’t think you’d find Arab girls partying with Jews. If “openness” is only one way, it isn’t really open.
Interested in your viewpoint from your Israeli perspective: What, if anything, could have been done to prevent this murder? Was the victim at a location where he shouldn’t have been? Should he have been carrying a firearm?
Time—even well past time— to sweep the back porches, Bibi.
...in response to the lynching of a 59-year-old Jewish man at the Tel Baruch beach Friday night by a gang of intoxicated young Arab men from the village of Jaljulya. Here's an idea for the next drunken Arab mob:
Shhh... he’s a mosaad plant...
from the link:
The small family was sitting on the bench at the northern Tel Aviv shore, when the gang of young men, all around 20 years old, strolled past. The Arabs made a comment about Leonard “Arik” Karp’s 25-year-old daughter, and the father answered in kind.
Within moments, a verbal attack quickly became a lynching.
The mother and daughter fled, with some of the young men chasing and beating them. The other members of the gang focused their attack on the father.
The daughter managed to put a call through to police; she and her mother sustained light injuries. Although police say they arrived in less than five minutes, by the time they arrived and mother and daughter had returned to look for Karp, he had disappeared.
“We operated forces to locate the missing man, and at the same time located the suspects,” Police Commander David Gez said.
A trail of blood seemed to indicate that Karp had tried to escape the vicious gang, but to no avail. His badly beaten body was later found floating in the water near the Israel Electric Corporation building. It was taken to Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for examination.
Police rounded up 10 suspects, thanks in part to a tip called in by the 17-year-old girl who had been with the gang. Several of the suspects were caught in the nearby Horashim Forest, still drunk. The girl, who allegedly confessed and led police to the site of the attack, reportedly told them that she had tried to stop the beating, but had been slapped by one of the drunken Arabs for her efforts. Her attorney later said that any confession she had made was invalid, inasmuch as it had been obtained by police without allowing her benefit of legal representation prior to questioning.
Police said they would seek a gag order to prevent the media from publishing photos of the suspects in order not to compromise any future witness identification process.
I dunno. If you see boisterous yout’s coming your way on a beach at night, it’s advisable to clear out pdq, whether in the US or Israel. Same goes for subway cars. I don’t know if it’s as easy to get a firearms license around Tel Aviv as it is here in Juda and Shomron, either. I’m too new here to give you anything more than my own perspective. Israelis can still make me as an American newly arrived.
Go get ‘em, Bibi!
:’)
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
