How Obamacare’s mandated pg 91 line 4-7 “translation services” can spark a Second Civil War
The Collins Report ^ | August 17, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Posted on 08/17/2009 6:06:02 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

This is the simple but powerful text of the 10th Amendment to our Constitution.

The first impression a reading of Obamacare’s scheme brings to mind are the many blatant violations of the 10th Amendment it contains.

One such violation is the demand that ALL medical service providers and facilities be compelled to include on staff translators able to render “language-appropriate services” in potentially hundred of languages.

Page 91 lines 4 – 7 essentially demands any medical services provider to have translators available to communicate with non English speakers in their own language either by telephone or in person. This is a disaster in waiting.

New York City’s welfare department provides a look at what Obamacare’s “language-appropriate services” means. In 2003 the City agreed to use taxpayers’ money to cover “translation services” for six languages. That’s grown to 21 and New York is being sued for not covering Soninke a Nigerian language. Already NYC just one locality provides 7000 translations yearly!

Civil War in Court

The Census Bureau recognizes 337 languages spoken or signed in America. There are thirty states with “English Only” laws meaning Obamacare violently collides with States’ 10th Amendment rights.

There are several of these states that aren’t likely to roll over and play “dead” for Obama.

It’s doubtful Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Idaho Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, Utah and Wyoming won’t bring 10th Amendment lawsuits against Obama the instant he signs his bill.

This could easily spark a Second Civil War, not fought in the streets with guns but in courthouses across America. There are still enough safe judges to bring these suits before and fight on for years.

Obama's talk of pulling back on the public option is not the end of this war. It is not even the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning and this is real progress for liberty and democracy.

Legislation that's supposed to organize the provision of medical services really shouldn't be burdened with rules about language translation services.

That's a totally separate issue best taken care of with its own separate legislation.

This is the same sort of thing that brought down Hillarycare ~ there the big deal was the application of the US Criminal code to doctors (as if they weren't already covered by those laws).

People got very upset reading about all the various punishments that could be made on health care providers for minor infractions ~ as I recall, there was more discussion of available prison time than of payment for organ transplants.

These Leftwingtards simply have no common sense nor understand of relevancy. The current set of bills progressing through the House committees seem to have been slapped together by lobbyists for a coffin company.

People - 0bama is bad news - “Big Brother Supreme Comrade Leader” doesn’t care about the Constitution. I say for one that the media be held to the same treasonous charges as should be applied to him.

0bama might have won by electorate - but it was under false premises - and he should be arrested and the history books corrected after he is striped of his title.

This health care is something that he thought would pull at the hearts of America - something he thought he could pass over our heads without resistance - but in the words of the Great President Ronald Reagan - “he thought wrong!”

This is only the beginning - next time he will be more covert when superseding the US Constitution - and that’s why his administration needs to be held in contempt and charged as traitors! They are not in the best interests of the US or any single state therein...

It’s already the law here in California. That’s another part of the reason why we are doing so well financially.

the whole section - 2201 through 2281 - National Health Service Corps, includes funding - my calculator was running out of 0’s, but I believe it adds up to $10 Billion - for education and training of future doctors, nurses, dentists, and yeah, those translators to operate in our Nurse Managed Health Centers (community homes?). Just what I was looking forward to (not!).

The law in California requires translation from English to other languages ~ not from other languages to English.

You could bankrupt your 100,000,000 taco joints by forcing them to have someone literate in written English on the premises (jus' for example).

Opionion: All politicians responsible for allowing/facilitating the entry of illegal aliens into America should have their personal fortunes confiscated in order to pay for their foolishness. Politicians should foot the bill for these people like it used to be necessary to have a sponsor to enter the country.

Since when did 0bama start abiding by The Constitution and the laws of our republic?

His "administration" is best summed up by the following sentence.

The arrogance and stupidity of this administration spans the spectrum.

We need citizens in the 8th District of Florida (Orlando) to attend Town Hall Meeting with Alan Grayson TONIGHT!

I've been asking Alan Grayson’s office (8th District of Florida - Orlando) for weeks if and when he will hold a Town Hall meeting here in his district. I kept getting “We plan to have one, but we're not sure when and where - it will probably be the very last week of August. Watch the website for news on this.”

Finally, posted at 6:00PM yesterday (Sunday) with only 24 hours notice, Alan Grayson’s web site has announced that the Town Hall here in Orlando will be held tonight (Monday) at 7:45PM at the local IBEW Union Hall. Here's the announcement:

ALAN GRAYSON
[8th Congressional District of Florida –Orlando]

TO HOST HEALTH CARE TOWN HALL
August 17, 2009 7:45 PM

From Grayson’s website:

Congressman Alan Grayson will host a town hall meeting to discuss the need for health care reform, listen to concerns or answer questions from the constituents he serves, and debunk the many myths being circulated about the current proposals.
WHAT: Health Care Town Hall
WHEN: Monday, August 17, 2009, 7:45 p.m.
WHERE: IBEW Local 606 Union Hall
820 Virginia Drive
Orlando, FL
The Congressman intends for and expects this event to be a respectful and productive discussion.
This is the second public health care meeting the Congressman has held during the summer district work period. On July 27th, he met with about fifty members of his Health Care Advisory Board. The meeting was announced 72 hours in advance, open to the public, and promoted and covered by multiple media outlets.
The Congressman also will conduct a health care telephone town hall on Thursday, August 20th at 7 p.m. People interested in being a part of that event can sign up on the Congressman’s website.

Don’t depend on the courts - including SCOTUS - to defend the Constitution. They haven’t in awhile; why start now? Don’t depend on the legal profession to fight this one. Overturning election results they don’t agree with is their forte.

DO put your trust in Mssrs. Browning, Colt, Smith and Wesson. Draw a line in the sand - on one side freedom lovers, on the other, socialists.

Deo vindice

They aren’t getting rid of the public option. That is still their goal and that will not change. Just expect more closed door “negotiations” and middle-of-the-night legislation.
In fact don’t believe a single word that any of these “jokers” speaks.

Go to court? For justice?? Gee, if only the Founders had thought of that. The whole revolution thing could have been avoided, right!! Sorry, Coach, but this time I’ve gotta disagree. And no, not “Civil” war. It will by necessity be most UN-civil. Civility is far too reminiscent of the sell-out side of the republican party—McCain endorsing Obama and the like. Let’s allow our weak-kneed, American despising president to flout VICTORY. As ACTUAL AMERICANS, we will do everything necessary to ACHIEVE IT!!
