Biden: Stimulus saved 1,600 jobs in Orange schools (GAG ALERT!!!)
The Orlando Sentinel ^ | August 19, 2009 | Leslie Postal

Posted on 08/19/2009 1:08:04 PM PDT by Baladas

Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan praised the federal economic recovery package Wednesday, saying it had saved more than 1,600 jobs in Orange County's public school system alone and 26,000 education jobs across Florida.

Speaking at Jackson Middle in Orlando, the two called public school teachers the key to improving the country's economic situation and said many already do excellent work.

But they also said that President Barack Obama's administration isn't interested in maintaining the status quo but instead wants to use the unprecedented resources now available as part of the recovery act -- some $100 million in new money for education -- to push for unprecedented reform.

They want the dropout rates lowered, college-success rates increased and the struggling schools that never improve closed or reinvented.

"We've just go to get a lot better," Biden said.

WOW! Saved 1600 jobs, minus the 2.7 million lost gives us a negative gain.
My god these people are morons.
(Sorry morons I don’t mean to insult you.)

will anyone believe him? Did it cost $100,000 or more per job? Were these jobs lasting more than a week?

try and give that speech in St. Lucie Cty, where they are closing and consolidating schools and shooing out teachers left and right. Must be all the teachers here that are going there to work, net gain, less than zero.....

Once upon a time, the teachers and schools were solely funded by the churches.

Imagine that, if you will!

Lesson to every President in the future:

In a downturn economy go and claim that you saved jobs and if the f***** up communist media asks you about this claim, tell them I learned this from Obama.

Well, it's also a bit more slippery to talk about "saving" jobs.

How do you prove or disprove that jobs have been "saved?" The fact that they weren't lost? How do we know they were ever in danger in the first place?

No, the proof of the pudding is jobs ADDED - that is tangible and quantifiable. And it's something Obama hasn't acomplished to date.

Never mind how few there were, or what it cost per job....

The very statement is ridiculous. This is just “block grants” on steroids. Give money to states, they use the money to pay public employees - VOILA!-— jobs “saved”!

It’s nothing new. Just spreading taxpayer money around among friends.

Obama appoints Biden to handle stimulus trillions
American Spectator | 6.8.09 | By Philip Klein
FR Posted by Behind Liberal Lines

Vice President Joe Biden said it was “above [his] pay grade” to explain in detail the methodology the White House uses to estimate the number of jobs created or saved by the economic stimulus legislation, but stressed that there had been no “reasonable” challenges to the estimates. **** “I’m not an economist,” Biden said.“My background is foreign policy and the constitution. “ (Excerpt) Read more at spectator.org ...

REFERENCE Fraudster had links to fund run by Bidens

(Reuters) – A fund of hedge funds run by two members of VP Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by firms controlled by Texas financier Allen Stanford, charged by regulators with an $8 billion fraud, the Wall Street Journal said. The Bidens $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and a Stanford Financial Group entity, and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund, the paper said. Stanford-related companies marketed the fund to investors and also invested about $2.7 million of their own money in the fund, the paper said, citing a lawyer for Paradigm.

Paradigm Global Advisors is owned through a holding company by the vice president's son, Hunter, and Joe Biden's brother, James, according to the paper. Paradigm's attorney, Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden, as well as Paradigm, told the paper he did not know which Stanford entity invested the roughly $2.7 million. He told the paper the Bidens NEVER met or communicated with Stanford.

And then he said........."duh."

There, don’t you feel better now?

The federal stimulus didn’t save the teachers and support staff who were Rif’d in our district. Nor did it prevent those remaining to lose three days of pay this year on top of the increased work loads.

And maybe the stimulus also saved thousands upon thousands of Union jobs. What does have to do with putting the unemployed back to work? Liberal thinking: our budget last year was x amount and this year we will keep it the same as last year. Therefore, we cut spending.

called public school teachers the key to improving the country's economic situation

Is this a joke? In order to improve the USA economy... we need to have positive economic data... so far I haven't seen one scant iota of info... the stock market is going up on a pipe dream. Companies are beating their own drastically lowered EPS... railroads are leaving their cars abandoned in the rail yards all over the country. Container ships are losing money every time they cross the oceans...

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS FREAKIN' TALKING ABOUT??!!
