(IsraelNN.com) Rubin Margules, a member of the Zionist Organization of Americas National Executive Board, told Israel National News that American Jews have begun to realize they made a mistake by voting for U.S. President Barack Obama. Margules, who accompanied former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee on his trip to Judea and Samaria Tuesday, said Israel should learn to find alliances outside of the U.S. and act in its own best interests.

They voted for a man who reeked of socialism and they call it a mistake?
Uh, mistake is putting it mildly. Perhaps it would be best for San Kinnison to take it from here........
There is no replacement for the US for Israel, no matter what Israel learns or knows (India will not cut the mustard, and they like curry anyway), just there is no replacement for citizens of private MDs if the public option appears and swallows all into its gaping socialist maw.
I’ll believe that when I see it, or when I go to Temple and hear it.
To be God’s chosen people, Jews are so stupid. Sorry, but that’s the way I see it.
Why do American Jews continue to vote for the leftist democrat party? They seem to have “buyers remorse” at times but they just go straight back to the democrats. Like a dog to its vomit............
No Sh*t.
We told them so before the election. They were warned. Sheesh!
I hope it isn't too late.
I don’t think this has dawned yet on Manhattan’s upper west side. If and when it does, I doubt there will be many who will admit it.
Simple answer. They are simply an IDIOTS!!!!:-))))
Your post assumes that Israel is important to American Jews.
As an Israeli Jew currently in the USA (I am also a USA citizen), I sometimes find that that is not the case.
it’s ok. we think you’re pretty stupid too.
No, not stupid. They don’t care.
American Jews are largely secular and (generally) did not experience the Shoa. Zionist Jews have been through the Nazis and various pogroms before that.
I really expected to get blasted/flamed/threatened when I made my post, but not so far. By the way, the love of my life is the most left-leaning Jew that God ever created, and the perfect example of a Miami living coastal elite...If I could just convince her she was equally in love with me life would be beautiful.
Sam would not only know just what to say but absolutely how to say it!
1. Truth is, for many American Jews, Israel is no more important than Germany is for German Americans. Nice place to visit, maybe see the sights, but that’s it. A distant connection.
2. Some who care are like Neville Chamberlain; good-intentioned, smart even, but wrong.
3. Some despise Israel and religious and zionist Jews as an embarassement. Rahm Emmanuel and “J Street” come to mind here.
4. Some (more than one would think) are just uninformed: too busy running lives to pay attention
It’s little different than any other people.
Jews need to learn that socialism is evil.Oh, we've learned it, but a few too many of us ignore it, anyway. And we were warned way back in the century against encroaching Statism. By God, via His servant Samuel. Reference I Samuel:8, 1-22.
Which reminds me that the king against which God warned was a bloody piker compared to King Washington DC . . .
The Jews (as a whole) keep gettin raped and they keep votin Dem. My guess is that the trend will just continue in the next election and beyond.
Liberal ideology goes before religion or cultural heritage (or common sense) for most Libs, including Jewish folks.
I met the most wonderful young people from Israel a couple of years ago and had tears in my eyes (and heaviness in my heart) when I knew they were heading home to a place where their lives were potentially endangered. I just don't understand how American Jews are so callous and dismiisive about Israel, particularly the Hollywood crowd (who could use their influence).
It’s not nearly as dangerous as portrayed on TV.

Yes. “Deutschland uber Alles” is quite the trendy muzak piece for rabbis on WH telecon calls.

Come the next election, American Jews will demonstrate that they have not learned a damned thing.
I never could understand how anyone of the Jewish faith could vote for Obama if they had any respect for their ancestors who suffered through the holocaust... Perhaps after this they will remember the saying, “Never Again”, and perhaps they will be able to understand HOW it happens (how can you stop it from happening again when you don’t recognize the signs earlier than this? It’s already started now...
Perhaps the Jews who find themselves questioning their votes now should make a vow to “Never Again” vote for Democrats? (I know that’s probably asking too much, right? Obama is the bad guy - not the party itself, is what I imagine some will say...)
Partly because they fear evangelical Christians.
The democratic party (and the republican party) have changed dramatically from what they once were. I believe many Americans have grave concern about the candidate selections we are given for people who have such enormous power that tentatively can disrupt and destroy our lives and our nation as we know them. Legislation like this health care bill prove many voted into office to represent us have no such inclination.
You won’t here it in my Temple. Bunch of koolaid drinkers. The only Jews who get are the Orthodox. Sad that my reform tribe members just don’t get it.
An irrational fear at best.
you made me laugh
Those who follow the False Prophet, their names shall be blotted out. And their names shall be uninscribed from The Book of Life and shall be spoken no more. They are cut off.
Never mind the Jews!
When is our MSM going to come clean?
why?
“I met the most wonderful young people from Israel a couple of years ago and had tears in my eyes (and heaviness in my heart) when I knew they were heading home to a place where their lives were potentially endangered.”
I get the same feeling about people who go to work or live in any American city with a liberal adminstration.
What are you hearing in Temple?
Socialism is part of the fabric of Israel. Health care in Israel is both universal and compulsory, and is administered by a small number of organizations with funding from the government. All Israeli citizens are entitled to the same Uniform Benefits Package, regardless of which organization they are a member of, and treatment under this package is funded for all citizens regardless of their financial means.
I haven’t been there for a service in some time, and we got a new Rabbi. The former Rabbi’s sermons for the past eight years seemed to say “Bush sucks,” and that to be a good Jew means that you vote Democrat, and before that is was essentially “Newt Sucks.”
Apparently the few conservatives in the congregation were not the only ones upset about the amount of politics from the pulpit, and the new Rabbi’s sermons were not political at all last year on the Holy Days.
I suppose time will tell about him as he gains confidence and builds his rapport with the congregation.
As far as what the congregants are saying, I try not to argue politics with liberals because I’ve learned that arguing with a fool is a waste of energy, and bystanders are not often able to tell which one of us is the fool - the liberal for believing foolish ideas, or me, for arguing with him.
So, I don’t know what my fellow Jews are thinking.

Last poll I saw had 92% of Jews supporting Obama.
Because the RAT-Jews are wild-eyed baby killers. The conservative Jews are not.
I left my church after the election. It was building up over time. The one day one of our choir members got up and gave up a 20 talk about how he “felt” there was racism during the hurricane. It was too early to read items on the FR to crush him with facts. There are too many Christians who think without facts. Our pastor gave a pre-election sermon and pointed to voting against Obama without naming names. I was worked the poll all day and many in our church rejected the GOP sample ballot and told me how they were voting. It is so sad to watch them being fooled.
I personally do not get any person regardless of race, religion, creed, biology, male, female, its, etc., did not get a wake up moment when Bama told Joe the Plumber what he intended to do.
“Partly because they fear evangelical Christians.”
I’ve never met a Jew who feared evangelical Christians.
Suspicious of their motives, maybe.
Annoyed, certainly.
Feared? Huckabe is creepy, like he’d take your kids away from you to raise him the way he’d want to, but he’d do that to Methodists and Roman Catholics, too.
87% of self-identified religous, “social, or ethinic” Jews.
Whatever that means.
“The only Jews who get are the Orthodox.”
Come to the dark side. We have latkes.
I call Bull sh— on this. The socialist idiots who voted for this guy, be they of the Jewish faith or simply of Hebrew ancestry will vote for him again. They are marxist / socialist first and nothing else matters more than that.
People need to stop with the fantasy BS.
Israel is like Europe.
They also have a thriving private pay health system.
Under Netanyahu Israel is making great strides against socialism.
funny and accurate metaphor
"Health care in Israel is predominantly financed from public sources via a mixed system of payroll tax and general tax revenue. Supplementary voluntary health insurance (VHI), statutory cost sharing and direct out-of-pocket payments for private sector services also play a role. In recent years the share of public financing has declined, while the share of private financing has increased."
"NHI financing
More than half of the health care systems activities are financed by NHI, which was established by the NHI law in 1995. See the section on Health care reforms for further details on the background to and implementation of this law. Since the beginning of 1995, all permanent residents of the State of Israel have been entitled to a benefits package specified in the NHI law. They are also required to enrol in one of four competing, non-profit health plans offering the NHI benefits package and are allowed to switch between plans once a year (Rosen and Shamai 1998; Gross et al 2001). Residents are free to choose among the health plans, which must accept all applicants. There are two open enrolment periods each year. No permanent resident can voluntarily opt out of the NHI system. The health plans are independent, nongovernmental legal entities, but they operate within a legal and regulatory framework defined by the government.Israel is like Europe.
All of Europe is not the same. I have lived a total of 13 years in five European countries.
You went to a lot of trouble for something I did not controvert. Yes, I know Health Care is socialized in Israel. In fact I posted a thread about it a couple of months ago.
I simply stated that there is also a legal private health care system alongside.
“All of Europe is not the same.”
Western Europe, the countries that were not Soviet satellites, are socialized. We in the US pay for their programs by paying for their defense thus saving them that huge expense.
