(Knox County Mayor) Ragsdale won't say who paid for trip to Kosovo

Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale won't reveal who paid for his recent trip to Kosovo, but when asked about the junket on Monday, he said the company doesn't do business with the county.

Before and after a meeting of the Halls Republican Club at the Mandarin House on Maynardville Highway, the mayor briefly addressed a reporter's questions about the trip. He also faced a couple of tough questions from audience members during the meeting itself......

The eight-day trip to several cities in Kosovo was part of sister-city program, according to the mayor's office, paid for by an unnamed business. Ragsdale and his lieutenants have repeatedly declined to identify the business.

Apparently, a local ethics committee has already found this mayor to be involved in ethics violations and has referred the info to the DA's office to file charges.

Yes, just the kind of Mayor you want to be choosing your "Sister City".

So, if you want to do something corrupt, you should attempt to launder the money through some company that "doesn't do business (directly) with the" jusidiction. That means it's A-OK ---NOT!

“County Mayor” is a misnomer, it’s like a County Executive (or County Judge, which I believe it was at one point). The “big Mayor” in Knox isn’t Ragsdale, it’s the Knoxville City Mayor Bill Haslam (a rich RINO currently attempting to buy the Gubernatorial nomination). I know little about Ragsdale.
