Glenn Beck Off This Week: Vacation or Something More?

First on TVNewser: Tipsters inside Fox News tell us Glenn Beck's vacation this week from his Fox News show was not planned. We hear Beck was told to take this week off to let some of the heat surrounding him die down. That heat began July 28 on "Fox & Friends" when Beck said he thought Pres. Obama has "a deep-seated hatred for white people," adding, "This guy is, I believe, a racist."

In the days and weeks that followed an organization called ColorofChange.org mobilized an effort to get advertisers to pull their spots from Beck's show. Earlier this month, a Fox News spokesperson told TVNewser that the advertisers simply moved their spots from Beck to other programs, "so there has been no revenue lost."

But the list of advertisers grew to 20 and so did the resolve inside FNC that something more should be done.

A Fox News spokesperson denied our accounts and simply told us, "Glenn Beck will back on Monday." But several sources inside FNC confirm that this is a forced vacation.

Also - did the list really grow to 20 or is Color of Hate just claiming that it grew to 20. There was a point they were claiming that advertisers had pulled ads that never had spots on Glenn’s show in the first place.

When we were on St. Martin, I was struck by how many people worked, had cars, and houses. We walked around day and night and went to two night clubs. Haitians were coming there because of employment opportunities. Also, try St. Barts which is pricier.

He had that one caller last week. The lady that got recorded at a townhall asking a question. Later she got threatened, strangers calling her house, etc. Glenn was real, real sympathetic towards her.

While Color of Hate is busy monitoring Fox did they happen to catch the 8 minutes of true unadulterated racism with Mark Lamont Hill on BOR the other night. To encapulate

• MLH made blanket statements about white people based on some convoluted mathematical formula from demographic data
• MLH said people who disagree with Obama are by "Most likely" racist
• MLH said because a region was traditional racists all the current residents are..Lebanon, PA
• many other jewel of ignorance

Yeah I heard some nervous comments from him during a show a couple weeks ago... he said something like, “friends, if I turn up in Bangkok dead of auto-erotic asphyxiation, don’t believe it”.

He didn’t sound like he was joking. This has bugged me ever since.

Beck's vacation

Contradicting a report just now on TVNewser that Fox sources say Glenn Beck has been knocked off the air for a week in response to pressure from advertisers, an aide to Beck, Matt Hiltzik, emails with evidence that, contrary to what's apparently the company's spin, Beck isn't being punished, but is rather off on a planned vacation.

Hiltzik forwarded a July 14 internal email from Christopher Balfe, the president of Beck's production company, stating that Beck will be off "the week of August 17."

Hiltzik noted that Beck is also off the radio this week.

The full email -- which seems to show that the boycott has yet to take an effect on Beck -- is after the jump.

Fish Hawk Judge Napolitano can’t carry Glenn becks jock.

A few years ago while driving around this fine country we came across the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park.
Drove in near sunset and WOW. NO one there and GODs walking there.
Also about 35 years ago during a drought I used to go camping during the winter in Sequoia National. No one around forever.
Here I go scuba diving or sailing and it too is GODs country.
Conservative Indian huh? Man you are a minority.
Hawaii, only state I’ve not visited, hoping to someday sail there.

Thanks for posting that ... it is beyond silly for anyone to believe Fox *forced* Glenn on a time-out due to these racist yahoos, considering how Pat has been promo-ing the TV show next week during the radio broadcast, telling us it's big stuff on the czars, tying up loose ends, "If you only watch five tv shows this years, make them Glenn Beck on Fox next week" in the deep-silly voice.

Grasping, these people are sinking and looking for the preservers.
