Posted on 08/20/2009 12:09:12 PM PDT by past_present
On Tuesday, MSNBCs Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns: "A man at a pro-health care reform rally...wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip....there are questions about whether this has racial overtones....white people showing up with guns." Brewer failed to mention the man she described was black.

He was taking a page out of the Black Panthers’ playbook. It was going to the capitol in California and being arrested for carrying rifles and shotguns that made Huey Newton and Bobby Seale cult heroes in the 70s.
Who are you going to believe, MSNBC or your lying eyes?
Does anyone now doubt that the media is actively part of the DNC?? They actually edited the video to show what they wanted, to cloak the truth from their viewers. How can anyone possibly think they are not biased after seeing this?
These people would willing report that the dissidents burned down the Reichstag!
Liberals in defense mode.
When they fear their side is not what they thought it would be, in the pocket of industry, they lash out, distract, snark.
Calling opponents racists gives themselves a sense of carte blanche not to think about the nitty gritty of the health bill, the pharmaceutical company no-bargain.
Is anyone surprised?
The funniest part is that the handful of ignorant leftist idiots who actually watch MSNBC for “news” are stupid enough to fall for this hoax. And yet the libs love to attack Fox News for “lying”.
I saw this video on another thread. Just wondering if there is a photo or video that actually shows that the guy is black?
Imagine a leftwing crowd burning down the Capitol before the 2010 elections with the GOP looking to win big. The media reports that it was the “radical right” with heavily edited video.
Do you think the media would NOT do that? This MSDNC report should answer that.
The unedited video is up there somewhere. Its been linked on blogs and everything else.
Nice job, MSNBC.
By the way, Toure, the mental midget said:
“And I think we’re gonna see somebody, some sort of Squeaky Fromme, some sort of Mark Hinckley figure, because there’s so much anger in the country about him.”
Hey, Toure must have been pressed for time.
He was compressing two figures: John Hinckley and Mark David Chapman.
Well then it should be linked here. Where?
I attended a Pro-187 rally at a local high school which had a large number of African-American supporters on hand. The Los Angeles Times reporter literally had to climb to a spot on the top row behind me in order to frame a shot excluding them all from the next days front page photo.
If you can stand Rick Sanchez’ blathering here is not only a video but an interview with the guy.
Watch this CNN report. I guess this was before the memo was sent out.
Obviously ideology trumps accuracy at pMS-NBC. Additional proof is that they surely have received hundreds of emails informing them of their error, yet they choose not to correct themselves.
I went to their webpage and sent an email telling them of my disgust.
Hope you do the same.
This was a pro-Obama event BTW
Nothing new there. Look how many times they’ve talked about racist republican “birthers” yet managed to omit any mention of Phil Berg, Alan Keyes, and Roger Calero.
Its called cowardice.
Can’t blame the guy for carrying protection after what happened to Kenneth Gladney.
Also failed to mention these gun-toting protesters in Arizona were NOT 2nd Amendment conservatives, but have been found to be Alex Jones 911 Truthers. And the young lady with the Obama is Hitler photo confronting barney was a Lyndon Larouche activist. The Larouchers have been sticking a Hitler mustache on every President since Bush 1.
Another FReeper nailed it earlier today when he said that the democrats have proven that they weren’t ready for a black president.
Video of the black gentleman exercising his 2nd Amendment rights.
I do not think people should carry the type of weapon to those meeting in public. It creates a bad atmosphere.
If you are life loving conservertives, why should you support violence and bloodshed? The scripture said, it is because of rebellion, the sanctuary was destroyed, the power of the holy people utterly broken. Hitler manufactured a crisis to gain absolute power. In view of this, free republic should ban, delete rebellious speech.
Since the man who carries a weapon is a black, how do we know he is not part of Acorn in attempt to manufacture news, to make conservertives to look bad. There are so many things we do not know, so many things can be manipulated by both sides, therefore take everything with a grain of salt.
“Love thy enemies, do good to those who hate you” (Mat5:44). That is Jesus’s commandament.
That's why I pay my taxes
By the way, this is how Presidential families should dress. Say what you will about the Kennedy's (and that is quite a bit), at least they were always well-dressed to portray an image to be respected. You don't walk off of Air Force 1 in beach attire. What are we, trash?
Can you imagine the leftist outrage if the first black president had been conservative?
1. Sudden impairment of neurological function, especially that resulting from a cerebral hemorrhage; a stroke.
2. A sudden effusion of blood into an organ or tissue.
3. A fit of extreme anger; rage
Interview and footage of him at the article here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2320654/posts
What violence and bloodshed occurred (besides at the hands of union thugs in St Louis)?
If someone brought a hammer, would you have decried the support of violence and bloodshed?
Oh, I think I'll continue to quote Sam Adams.
I was expecting Obama to be just another bad president, like Carter or something. I never in a million years expected him to be the second coming of Karl Marx. I thought we could just wait him out, but I said the same thing about rap, when it came out too. whoops
Looking at jeanguy04’s posting history, he/she doesn’t appear to be a troll. Jeanguy is taking the most simplistic and historically void view of “turn the other cheek,” but not a totally uncommon one. For a suprisingly good read on this, go to the wiki at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turning_the_other_cheek (Yeah, shocked me, too.). Such views can be annoying, but don’t rise to the level of trolldom IMHO. Of course, I could be wrong...
regarding rap -
I thought it would be on the way out when Vanilla Ice came on the scene...
The way to destroy a countercultural movement is to have white people start liking it.
Wally Shirra the astronaut and family meet Kennedy in the Oval Office.
This is a photo on previous threads.
The rebellion referred to was rebellion against God. Scripture is filled with references to God's people successfully rebelling against oppressors or staving off invaders provided they were right with God first. This is not a license to revolution but you're mischaracterizing scripture.
Sounds a bit like Ghandi suggesting that the Jews should have happily gone to their fate in concentration camps to prevent war in europe.
Good One! Especially after reading the reports out of montana re:the townhall meeting. Total Fiasco.
"I don't understand... why am I not getting the chicks?"
Do you know witch threads?
I’ll try to find them via browser history..hang on.
I found 2 articles, there is a better pic somewhere..still looking.
“Sounds a bit like Ghandi suggesting that the Jews should have happily gone to their fate in concentration camps to prevent war in europe.”
That’s the pacifist interpretation of “turn the other cheek,” which I personally reject. I prefer the take that it means don’t take vengence but demand equality/respect. It comports with the biblical themse that (1) vengence isn’t to be taken by man — note that vengence and self defense are different things, as are vengence and righteousness, and (2) do not submit to man, only to God.
