Obama: Republican conspiracy out to kill health reform
The Washington Times ^ | August 20, 2009 | Joseph curl

President Obama took to the conservative airwaves Thursday to charge that Republican leaders are engaged in a vast right-wing conspiracy to kill health care reform in order to repeat the 1994 mid-term takeover of Congress, which followed the defeat of President Clinton's reform plan.

"I think early on, a decision was made by the Republican leadership that said, 'Look, let's not give him a victory, maybe we can have a replay of 1993, '94, when Clinton came in, he failed on health care and then we won in the mid-term elections and we got the majority. And I think there are some folks who are taking a page out that playbook," the president said.

Appearing on the Michael Smerconish radio show, Mr. Obama said he would "love to have more Republicans engaged and involved in this process," but he vowed to win the battle, with or without support from the minority party in Congress.

To have a conspiracy, you have to be organized, and right now that does not describe the Republicans. The people of this country are carrying the anti-Obamacare water all by themselves.

“President Obama...charge that Republican leaders are engaged in a vast right-wing conspiracy to kill health care reform in order to repeat ... .”

Obama’s in denial. His healthcare proposal is simply a crappy deal.

This guy is definitely the great unifier. If the republicans are not unified to the man on this then I’ll eat my hat. Not one of the republicans should vote for the current bills and only if there is substantial compromise.

This whole thing is a boondoggle. There’s no conspiracy @ss hole...IT’s plain and simply wrong...

More and more Obama reminds me of the insufferable kid in 7th grade who was always saying, “Teacher! Billy is being mean to me!” “Teacher, teacher, Suzie just passed a note to Linda!” “Teacher, they won’t let me play kickball with them!” What a loser.

It is always demonize. They have to have a demon to blame their incompetence on in order to survive.

The got 'one party' rule and they can't face up to their fecklessness.

Also noticed on TV that as he wailed his unhappiness with the Evil Republicans, his eyes stayed fixed on the floor. Would not look at the camera or interviewer. Sure body language of a whiney, thin-skinned, self-victimized loser.

The thing that makes me laugh is that Obama doesn’t need the Republicans in order to pass the “(less)-health-care- for-more-taxpayer-money” bill. He just needs the Republicans for cover when the fiasco tanks and the blame game begins!

Speaking of the “(less)-health-care-for-more-taxpayer- money” bill, one is reminded of certain products like ice cream etc. that have been “downsized” in terms of quantity and “upsized” in terms of price!

Hey Obama, you’ve got the votes. Why do you need the Pubbies help? Go ahead, try to ram it through.

But if he needs the Pubbies help, all he is doing is pushing them even further away.

Leadership Fail!

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw him make that statement. It’s not the Republicans, it’s the people of the country. Interesting point here. Rassmussen said he only has 34% strong approval for his health care plan. Since we know that (and I’m not picking on the blacks) they overwhelming support the President and they constitute about 14% of the population. Take them out of the picture and only 20% of the remainder support the plan. He’s got to see that.

Interesting how it’s ok for them to talk about “conspiracy theories”, as they brand people who entertain such notions as “conspiracy theorist nut jobs”.

If you want to know what the left is doing, just listen to what they accuse the right of.

For a nuanced, smarter-than-anyone, “Law Professor”, Obama sure throws word bombs like he does not know or does not respect their meanings.

Reading up on the definitions of the word “conspiracy” and hearing it come from “the great orator” makes me think of the term “Freudian Slip”.

And “Freudian Slip” directs my thinking to a heck of a lot of democrats...

So, why not consider the WRITTEN plan that's been offered by the Republicans.

Oh, yeah, that doesn't fit into your prompted soundbyte. What an amateur punk.

If you want to know what the left is doing, just listen to what they accuse the right of.

If I am not mistaken, this is also an "Alinskyan" tactic used by ACORN and other "community organizers" to accuse the opposition of what they themselves are doing.

Ergo, if there is a "conspiracy," it is more likely emerging from the radical left than it is from the "right wing."

There are too many Independents - and maybe even Blue Dog Democrats - who now regret voting for Obama either in "my-party-right-or-wrong" mode or in order to "punish' the Republican Party for stubbornly and stupidly abandoning the social and fiscal conservatism that has, up to now, made the GOP great.

So when the extremist Democrats and their supporters mobilize to promote an agenda, it’s just community organizing.

But when concerned citizens mobilize to oppose that agenda, it’s a conspiracy.

OK. Got it.

The Jugeared Jackass keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper. While Republican leaders might oppose him, it is the American people who want to see this abomination (or is that an Obamanation) fail.

Clinton didn’t lose control of Congress because he failed to pass health care “reform”, he lost because he tried to pull the same kind of fast one that the J.J. is trying to pull now.

No sir, it's not a conspiracy.

Definition of a conspiracy:
an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons

Mr. President:
It is not evil to value our Constitutional Freedoms and Limited Government above your political aspirations and collectivist Marxist ideals
It is not unlawful to speak our minds in public and demand that our elected representatives know how We The People feel about a major national political issue
It is not treacherous to seek to protect the best health care system in the world from the failures we see all over the world where socialized medicine prevails
It is far from surreptitious or secret. We The People are more than happy to show up in public, allow ourselves to be filmed and photographed, state our names for the record, and many of us have done you the courtesy of reporting ourselves to your snitch line so you and your cohorts know exactly who we are and what we believe.

Tell me again, Sir, about this alleged conspiracy...
