[Actor Jon] Voight (again) mincing no words on Obama
The Lone Star Times ^ | August 21, 2009

Posted on 08/22/2009 9:07:16 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Jon Voight, our current favorite non-politician rabble-rouser, isn’t letting up on his warnings of the potential consequences of Barack Obama’s plans and policies.

Voight, who minces no words when discussing this President – recently referring to Obama as a ”false prophet” and urging Republicans to “free the nation” from the “Obama oppression” – has lit into the Chief Executive again, accusing Obama of attempting a “slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms,” and asking if the President is “creating a civil war in our own country?”

In comments to the Washintgon Times, Voight again used the S word:

“We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever can’t see this is probably hoping it isn’t true. If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries, if we permit him to raise our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, then we will be in default. This great America will become a paralyzed nation.”

He also suggested conservatives make sure they know the opposition:

“Do not let the Obama administration fool you with all their cunning Alinsky methods. And if you don’t know what that method is, I implore you to get the book ‘Rules for Radicals,’ by Saul Alinsky . Mr. Obama is very well trained in these methods,” . . ..

Finally, for all the talk of the post-partisan, post-racial Enlightened One, Voight considers him essentially a common bully:

“The real truth is that the Obama administration is professional at bullying, as we have witnessed with ACORN at work during the presidential campaign. It seems to me they are sending down their bullies to create fist fights among average American citizens who don’t want a government-run health care plan forced upon them,” Mr. Voight says. “So I ask again. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?”

(These are particularly interesting comments in light of recent developments, including the Democrats turning special interest groups loose to threaten lawmakers who don’t support a health care ”public option,” and President Obama’s own claims that the grass-roots town hall protests are the product of another vast Republican conspiracy.)

Excuse me while I consult the entertainment section for the location of the nearest Jon Voight film.

I had a letter from John Boehner, soliciting moral support and money in an effort, if I understood him, to become Speaker?! Since when does a member of the minority party ever get to be Speaker?

Anyhow, the letter went into the round file along with all the other junk mail, and such things will continue to go there until someone with an R behind their name grows a backbone at least one-one hundredth as strong as the one that beautiful, courageous Sarah Palin has! What a SORRY bunch of pantywaists we are stuck with right now!!!

“Zero, ACORN and his Union thug army, US Congress and Senate and no few state governors are America’s domestic enemies.

They have declared war on each and every one of us.

I will not fire the first shot. But I’ll do my damnedest to fire the last.

That distant thunder that you may hear rolling through far-off hills is war.

War is coming. Here. Soon.

And, like my father before me, I am prepared. I am prepared to honor my oath.

And I won’t be alone.”

You are right. You will not be alone. It would be my great honor to stand with you and yours any day, my Fellow American!

Running from a bully makes him more of a bully...standing up to a bully is the best way to defeat him.

Do not shy away from meetings, rallies or elections because obama's goons (ACORN, SEIU, et al) show up wearing their "mean faces"...they always wear them, and they always look mad.

Go to the polls in groups, take your video cameras, and film your friends entering the polls...any interference will be caught on video for the whole world to see...video is sometimes more powerful than a .357.

Remember, "GOON" stands for "Gang Of Obama Nuts"...and Jesse Jackson once said he'd like to cut them off. Where is ol' Jesse anyway?

People should keep in mind that Obama, like Clinton before him, is not the only false prophet to endanger the country. Maybe one of the worst, but not the first nor the last. Republicans have their share of false prophets as well even though the spotlight is clearly not on them.

Everybody's talking at me.
I don't hear a word they're saying,
Only the echoes of my mind.
People stopping staring,
I can't see their faces,
Only the shadows of their eyes.

“Mr. Voight says. “So I ask again. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?”

Jon Voight is a good man and a patriot. I am glad he’s on our side.

As for his question, absolutely yes. Obama has got us to the brink of a civil war, he’s done it with reckless disregard to our constitution, and arrogance.

His leadership has been reckless and he’s placed us all in jeopardy. Once it begins, it will not be something that he can stop... he has less credibility with each passing day, nobody is going to listen to this ass-clown, Obama.

Obama has failed, he should step down or be removed from office before this charade has gone too far.

Buy rope and lots of it.....

The trouble is that the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are politically bulletproof in their gerrymandered districts. Only two Senators, Bernie Sanders VT and Tom Udall NM belong. Few holding an office elected from an entire State would have this range of extreme views. Vermont is smaller in population than many Congressional Districts and is very Left. Udall is like a Kennedy in the southwest.

These listed people do not have to fear IN THEIR DISTRICTS.

You are right that they need exposure because as holders of safe seats they have built up seniority and hold more power. The views of their districts are not those of their States or the Country.

I agree with you... If the GOP is anti-Socialism I sure can’t see much evidence of it in complete honesty. I honestly wonder if there is ANYONE in DC, or the GOP at ALL, that REALLY care about this country vs. making sure they get a piece of the socialist(fascist) pie Obama is baking. [I guess I should say that this group doesn’t include Palin — as far as I can tell she may have an (R) after her name, but she’s more of a “free-agent” type...]

He’s definitely trying... Fascists/Socialists/Marxists/Communists — they ALL need chaos to implement their control and that is EXACTLY what they are trying to feed. What it comes down to is this — how many people are truly brainwashed, and how many will instead rise up in defense (or to retake) the Freedom our Constitution guarantees. Except for those on the far left who KNOW they are socialists and are ready to do whatever they can for the cause, it is my humble opinion that Obama and his minions have FAR less people behind them than they realize...

Then again, it didn’t take Hitler a LOT of people to make hell on Earth for a while... I’d like to think though that due to our country’s history, it will NOT be as easy as it was for Hitler, for Obama to assert his control... But human nature doesn’t change that much. Scare enough people and more will cower in fear...

No matter what happens at this point it is NOT going to be easy to turn this tide around — especially with ACORN, and all of Obama’s czars. I worry there will be no elections to speak of by the time 2010 rolls around, or by 2012. And, if there ARE elections - they most certainly are going to be even more tainted than Obama’s election...
