Good morning, and thanks for the ping and thread.

I'd like to see somebody on the Republican side make a drawing of how private health care insurance will work if/when it becomes portable and follows the employee. After a few years, that will be wee weed up pretty badly.

Interesting that Wallace has been bragging about 'discovering' this book. He must listen to Rush.

Good morning, AB!

By now, many of us have heard about the TOTUS video celebrating Ramadan.

What you may not know is that on Saturday August 22, the White House uploaded to their YouTube website separate WH video productions celebrating Ramadan in each of the following languages:

Punjabi

Pashto

Urdu

Dari

Hindi

Persian

Arabic

This great attention to Muslim language detail and Ramadan celebration via the WH YouTube website is ironic for several reasons. My own personal pet peeve is that the WH press conference where Major Garrett questioned Robert Gibbs about the White House email scam was never posted to the site. Every time Gibbs is particularly asinine during the WH briefings, the most transparent administration in history refrains from publishing the videos.

Your tax dollars hardly working.

That's because that website is a propaganda site. Looked at this way, it makes sense. They don't want you to peek behind the curtain. The great Oz is all powerful, understand?

If you expect this administration to put out information to the public that was neutral and honest, without spin and solely designed to educate the people, well, then let's just say you'd have a l-o-n-g wait.

Obama and the dems accused the Bush administration of being secretive and closed mouth, yet here once more, is another example of where their pretty talk to get elected is just another lie, and they're worse than what they condemned.

I have read that VA booklet, and have some experience with the much more sensitive, shall we say, booklet called “Five Wishes”, which also guides one in making an informed living will or advanced directive.

The VA booklet is horrible. It is long, tedious to read, and leads the reader to believe that life should not be worth living in many conditions that are just difficult - not terminal!!!

If an elderly person in a VA hospital is being told to answer the questions, read to him by a ‘helpful’ social worker or even a volunteer, he will be very likely to agree with the most depressing and negative answers possible. Having visited elderly veterans in a VA hospital, it appears to me that they do not seem to have a very cheerful optimistic attitude in their general demeanor. I can only imagine how depressed they would be when they are more or less being told to choose to vacate their bed for the good of the country’s balance sheet.

I applaud President Bush and his advisers for discontinuing the use of “Your Life - Your Choice.”

I usually watch those conferences live, so I didn’t know they had been scrubbed from the site. (I can’t bear to go there, as it is just too depressing to see those people’s photos in the Oval Office, especially since he is STILL using the rug that Laura Bush designed. That is one of the many small things this small man does which irritate the heck out of me, nevermind his campaign to destroy the country!)

PS: I believe that veterans as well as everyone else should have a living will, but not based on the “Push-Poll” written for the VA.

I may be mistaken, but I do not believe that this is a thread about NOT watching the Sunday shows. It is about informing ourselves about what is being said (and not being said), and commenting about it.

Who's the guy here who translated all of the Saddam documents that were released by the DOD? He speaks Arabic and could maybe translate. Also, isn't there someone on this board that speaks Farsi (Persian)?

I want to know what he said in those tapes, and I don't trust White House interpretations.

Back in April, the cable news networks (even MSNBC and CNN) dropped most all of the daily WH press briefings because Gibbs is the worst press secretary in history. That is when I found the WH YouTube site. It's a lot more convenient to watch the videos with my schedule too.

Several pressers were never uploaded to the site after Gibbs showed his posterior on camera that day. The July 13 presser (email spamscam exposed) is the most recent.

One more question about health care; if it’s such a good idea, why wait until 2013 to implement it? Why not now? After all, that poor woman from last year is still waiting for Barack Obama to pay her mortgage and her car payment; how can he expect her to wait 4 years for health care?

Well, if they pass it I am going to have to figure out how to get knee replacements before our insurance is taken away from us. I am sure knee replacements on a government plan will be low on the priority list. I will be told to take some of those pain pills and get used to it.

Happy Sunday, Alas and All! Chris Wallace was quite angry showing the Friends the Death Book on Friday. Bill Press, Rick S. and Fr. Morris are discussing Fr. Barry's lecture to the religious folk. Rick And Fr. Morris are both saying--it's not a fabrication that abortion is not covered under this plan! Fr. Morris thinks it's not being honest to tell the religious folk they have moral obligation to pass his legislation. Bill Press thinks it's all just dandy and refuses to go into details on legislation.

Does anyone else want to SCREAM over that constant Zyrtec commercial..."Bicycle. I've missed you." Enough already! Or take an acting lesson!

I just woke this morning for a new distain of our current administration and the media..

I have known since the early 1960's that the media folks were trash, and it has only gotten worse. It has been clear for two years that Obama was an enemy of the American people. There is no way that my opinions of these scum can get any lower. Watching them is a dirty job, but the people need to be informed.

They are now discussing a poll on what women want and laughing about sex and stuff. I keep them on out of habit, and I really need to find something else on weekend mornings.

Wow MNJ, FNC is slaying the rat stream media in the cable world!

C-Spam was hilarious this morning a total rat fest. One Joker crusader after another. Looks like his acorn buddies were tasked with taking over the phone lines and they did.(wonder who dialed the numbers for them since that's way beyond their job description.)

One guy got through about 20 minutes ago with a couple of rats one from politico some other gal from who knows where and welcomed the DBM.

I almost spit my coffee out. We got through!

Gotta go to Savannah might get to freep a little later.
