Yikes!

That’s gonna leave a mark. Another good reason not to make comments too personal.

do you also feel that way about haircuts and trimming a child’s toenails and fingernails? Do they “consent” to those things?

Do foreskins grow back?

What your god says about penile mutilation is between you and him, whether he/she/it/they exist(s) or not.

Keep me, and the others out of it.

“do you also feel that way about haircuts and trimming a child’s toenails and fingernails? Do they “consent” to those things?”

No, but I hear the fiveskin is quite resilient.

I was going to respond to Antonico myself but I don’t feel like picking an illogical fight. His analogy is a little more than flawed, but who’s counting?

For those hyping this as a “gay” thing, note that the article actually says this won’t affect the rate of AIDS in the US much since circumcision doesn’t afford much protection in anal intercourse. This will protect a group that experiences a tiny fraction of the so-called “AIDS epidemic”; IOW, it will do practically nothing to fight AIDS, but give the government yet one more in-road into your health.

First, a child’s “private parts”, meaning his penis, isn’t “chopped off”. The foreskin is removed. Maybe you should know that its’ only uncircumcised men that get penile cancer. And while you contemplate whether foreskin removal is a “disfigure”, ask yourself: do you also feel that way about haircuts and trimming a child’s toenails and fingernails? Do they “consent” to those things?

Since the rates are higher for women, how do you feel about female circumcism?

>The hard, desensitised callus skin formed on the glans because of the protective foreskin being removed might have an influence in preventing minor cuts during intercourse that might lower chances of picking up HIV and other STDs, but consider the fact that Sweden, where circumcision rates are practically nil, has a lower HIV prevalence rate than Pakistan, where practically all males are circumcised. Malaysia, another Islamic country with near-total male circumcision rates, has five times the HIV prevalence rate as Sweden.<

The reason for the difference is that Swedish men use soap when the wash themselves off. You know and I know that you can kill darn near any germ with a little warm water and soap.

Colistomy is even “cleaner”.

Your faeces directly deposits itself into a sanitary bag, via a sealed port on the abdomen wall. No muck, no tissues.

Correct. In other the parts of countries such as Africa and Malaysia where the daily use of soap is not common, circumcision would have a benefit, I would presume.

Not reccommended for everybody.

Another use for duct tape, no doubt.

I think maybe a large sandwich bag, a “bendy” straw and duct tape. That oughta do it!

Correlation is not causation.

Do consider that Muslim cultures are cursed with at least three to four times the number of homosexuals (those engaging in male/male sex) that places like Sweden.

Sweden being Christian, does not allow polygamy. Islam does.

When one man has four wives, three men have no wife.

Why do you think America forced the LDS church to give up polygamy?

I didn't even smile. I've had a colostomy and 9 months later a reconnect, followed over the years by 3 seperate hernia surgeries from the original surgery, followed by periodical intestinal blockage by scar tissue build up......not too much fun.

(But hey! I can take a joke.)

No....a study was done in some African country.

Two villages....not all that far from each other.

One had all their males circumcised...the other did not. All due to religious beliefs...

The men of the both villages frequented the same places....

More men of the un-circumcised villager's contracted the HIV virus...than the circumcised villager's....

There was direct correlation....

fwiw-

“When one man has four wives, three men have no wife.”

I’d love to agree with you but this statement brings the others to question. It only holds true if the ratio between men and women is 1 to 1. Of course three of those women may be ugly making everything else more likely.

Hmmm...

Being a Christian. I would not advocate the ritual kind. We are under God’s grace not the law of Moses.

But circumcision does have some health benefits.

You don’t have to take the example of Islamic countries.

Sweden and Israel, and for that matter, Pakistan, have the same HIV prevalence rates.

The United States has a higher HIV prevalence rate than any of the above, and higher rates of circumcision than Sweden.

The ‘correlation is not causation’ argument will fit well with those who advocate genital mutilation as a “remedy” for STDs, too.

About that African study, I’d be willing to bet that the circumcised village was the Islamic one and the uncircumcised one, Christian or native religion.

Do you know what happens to those who indulge in homosexual relationships and extramarital/ premarital affairs in an Islamic society? That itself might be the key reason for lower HIV rates.

“2. The “real estate” and nerve ending in that parcel have a meaningful effect on marital relations, which are part of G*d’s natural order.”

Sorry, but I must call Bravo Sierra on the above. From many, many sources, the common view is that circumcision causes a increases the amount of penile vaginal contact to result in male ejaculation.

For the female, longer time is better, generally.

Just as an experiment, ask the females in your life, and check the literature.

The frenulum is damaged when the foreskin is removed.

The frenulum is one of the most nerve-ending-laden regions of the male penis, if not the most.

Someone ought to conduct a study to investigate any correlation between the diminished satisfaction of males due to penile mutilation, and extramarital affairs, LOL!

I have read of just such a case (no, I can't cite a source)

I have as well. When my son is an adult, if he feels he is highly likely to develop penile cancer, he will have my wholehearted support in undergoing a circumcision.

Before he was born, I saw no evidence compelling enough to take the risk with a newborn baby.
