I would agree this is no place for a government to decide such things. But aside from HIV, there are a lot of benefits to circumcision aside from that. There is only upside to circumcision with regard to health.

Nonsense.

Removing the appendix might prevent you from getting appendicitis, but does that mean that surgeons should start harvesting them for that sake?

There is vigorous debate about that. Chopping off an unconsenting child’s private parts SHOULD be controversial.

Pulling all a child’s teeth prevents cavities, too. Maybe teaching brushing is wiser. Let adults decide whether to disfigure themselves.

There is a downside too. It is a very traumatic experience. They circumcised me when I was born, and I couldn’t walk for a year.

BS to you also. Wash your dick, soap and water. There is no upside to circumcision. It is mutilation of infants and has no health value. It is done purely for religious reasons and so the hospital can tack on another charge when your child is born.
