The candidate with the superior temperament has devolved into a peevish president exasperated that mere citizens would question his wisdom.
President Obama is facing the toughest test of his presidency. George Stephanopoulos says he needs to go on “a solid two week vacation.” His poll numbers are sliding. And the pundits, both on the left and right, are taking shots. His signature legislative agenda item is on the rocks. How far we have come from candidate Obama, who seemingly could do no wrong.
Obama’s candidacy was defined (to the exasperation of conservatives) by idealism, appeals to bipartisanship, and competency. He is now short on all three — which explains why his support among voters and especially independents (who were susceptible to pledges to end old-style politics) has plummeted.
As for the idealism, no president has sunk so far so fast. Candidate Obama chastised Washington as a place where good ideas died.

One word , “Pelosi” and house liberals will be the end of Obama. Clinton survived by having democrats lose in 1994. Obama has to defend the liberals, but now he has civil war and has no idea how to end it.

I think his only solution is to pressure Pelosi and house liberals, but they want the Blue Dogs pressured instead to pass public option. The liberals wont lose their seats no matter how it turns out, blue dogs could.
That puts Pelosi in a difficult position where she could lose power, Hillary would sell out the liberals in a minute, and did, Pelosi may be too stupid.
He did plenty wrong in the presidential race, it’s just that the media choose to not cover it or worse cover it up.

Obama doesn’t need two straight weeks of vacation. He needs two weeks reading a number of things: the U.S. constitution, works by Milton Friedman, F. Hayek, Ayn Rand, Thomas Sowell, and some of the founding fathers for starters. And somebody should throw out all the leftist garbage he’s been soaking his noggin in for the past thirty or forty years. Oh yes, throw out the bong too.
I know someone who attended one of the Obama campaign "town halls" in 2008 as a supposedly "undecided" voter--a black professor who has a poster of Malcolm X on her office door. As if she was still pondering whether to vote for McCain. The townhall in Portsmouth this summer was so obviously packed with Obama supporters that they felt obliged to include a couple of mildly critical questioners at the Montana town hall.
