While we are distracted with the Healthcare legislation, the house has passed another huge bill that most again didn’t read. This bill will cause the closing of stores – large ones like Publix and Wal*mart and small mom and pop stores across the land. It will cause the closing of other businesses and it will break America as we know and love it.
What will be the upper limit to the unemployment? In the “Great Depression” it was around 25%. I think through thoughtless, ignorant however well meaning laws, our national “leadership” is going to break that record. Get ready to loose your jobs, your homes, your life savings and maybe your lives.
Cap and Trade…. Aka, Cap and Tax
Currently, my local Publix pays nearly $30,000 in electrical cost per month. That will be 6 times more under cap and trade that will send our dollars to other counties to buy “carbon credits”. Oh, hell.
Contact your congress people. Tell them to stop. Tell them to read bills before they put their names on them. Tell them to revoke the cap and tax bill before Obama can sign it. Change is often very bad.
We are in deep, dangerous water.
Long term unemployed and people who gave up looking for work were still counted back then. If we were to make a comparison our current numbers, in the mid to upper teens, would be much closer to Great Depression levels. Different accounting methods.

my fiance is still unemplyed and out of unemployment compensation...she has been out of work since may of 2008 due to the poor job market in our area...a few monthes ago my company to ward of laying anyone off cut our pay by 10%...i had to stop some of my insurance and 401k contributions to make up for some of the loss....this morning we have a mandatory meeting for all employees...i hear that there is a layoff and the rest will have their pay cut yet again...if i am one to stay with just a pay cut i will now have to cancel my health insurance to ensure that i can make ends meet for me and my little girl....there isn’t much hope but alot of change here in florida...thank you obama, pelosi, reid, bawney frank and all you other socialist pigs..................

Market crash in October. Bank failures. Huge numbers of them.
Unemployment going to 30-35%.
Gold going through the roof—hyperinflation.
Fed is already withdrawing “money” from the system. This can only hasten the crash.
Nothing that happens in politics is unforseen or unintended. The radical left WANTS 1 out of 10 jobseekers to be frustrated in their search, and become poor and dependent on the government.
Good luck keeping up with the Green Codes and heaven help you if you have to move after a layoff.
10% unemployment?
Meaningless.
What about the millions that lost full time jobs with benefits that are working but now working part time jobs with no benefits?
What about workers that remained employed but had their hours or days cut and lost 5, 10 20, thousand dollars in salary for the year?
The unemployment rate is meaningless in and of itself. The big picture must be looked at to see that the Democrat Congress and Obama are destroying this once great Nation.
