Torture-slaying trial, Day 8: Jurors convict Cobbins of first-degree murder (not called hate crime)

KNOXVILLE — Jurors this morning convicted Letalvis Cobbins of first-degree murder in the torture-slaying of Knox County couple Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

-snip-

Description of crime (Wikipedia);

According to the testimony of the Knox County Acting Medical Examiner Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan at the subsequent trial of Eric Boyd, Newsom was repeatedly raped and then blindfolded, gagged, arms and feet bound and his head covered. Barefoot, he was either led or dragged outside the house to a set of nearby railroad tracks. He was shot in the back of the head, the neck, and the back, and his body then set on fire. Christian's death would come only after hours of sexual torture, medical examiner Mileusnic-Polchan testified. Christian suffered horrific injuries to her vagina, anus and mouth.

She was not only raped but savaged with "an object," possibly a broken chair leg, the doctor testified. She was beaten in the head. Some type of chemical was poured down her throat, and her body, including her bleeding and battered genital area, likely scrubbed with the same solution - all while Christian was alive, the forensic expert said.

She was then "hog-tied," with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered tightly with a small trash bag and her body stashed inside five large trash bags before being placed inside a large trash can and covered with sheets. Christian died slowly, suffocating, the medical examiner said.

Under no circumstances should this be called a “Hate Crime”, because that would legitimize what is an inherently corrupt, unfair and prejudicial law.

As things are now, it is obvious to all that “Hate Crimes” indicate that the criminal was superior to their victim. That the victim was, and will always be, inferior to the criminal. Thus it puts the victim in the category of second class citizen, and provides extra punishment to the criminal, “Because he is inherently better than that”.

This is the same logic of punishing a person for abusing an animal. What Michael Vick did was not just a crime, but especially serious because he was a person of means and ability. This inflicted special pain on his dogs not felt by dogs abused by a poor person.

Hopefully, when this vicious murderer is hung by the neck until dead, as befits him, or at least has his veins pumped full of drugs until his heart stops beating, like an animal, society will with his execution promote the cause of justice—that his victims, even in death, are his superiors, as determined by a jury of the victim’s peers, not the criminal.

In the absence of a “Hate Crime”, he gets what he deserves, and is not elevated in any way. He dies with the lack of honor of a brutish beast.

Mainstream proclaimed it “too graphic” after the crime occurred and chosen not to carry it.

A couple of other killings were quite graphic also. Thr Job Corp killing with a Pentagram carving into a skull and a double murder in Union County about 24 years ago involving an ax IIRC. It's just as well to me MSM didn't pick up on it. We didn't need another Zooman trial.

NO CRIME should be a hate crime...that is the point.

I've read your comment three times and I still don't understand why you pinged me to it.

Are you suggesting that posts on FR are going to influence a future jury pool and their alternates to render a poor decision, or a hung jury?

If so, that is preposterous.

I'll say what I originally posted in even more clear terms...

Immediately after the guilty verdict, each perp should be treated to the same treatment they inflicted upon their helpless victims, as their very actions upon the helpless victims made it quite clear that such treatment was, according to their own standards, perfectly acceptable for others, thereby, equal treatment is logically perfectly suitable punishment for them.

Regrading the gender, or whatever, of the jurors...
There are two classes of people in this PCworld.
The oppressors and the oppressed.
Once defined and divided, it is furthermore understood by the PCworld that the oppressed NEVER oppress the oppressors.

Just like James Kennedy once said so sarcastically well;
“Christians only offend.
They never actually GET offended.”

That's just the way it is in PCland

"Starting with a flesh-ripping whipping followed by a salt water washdown

Too much work. A live burial would be much simpler and less messy.

A truck with dual fuel tanks, some chain, and a long, open asphalt highway such as those that run through the desert would be all the tools needed for a fitting punishment.

Well said. As I sat here in Tennessee, I heard the very, very graphic live jury verdict. The victim’s family members were listening to the graphic details as well. My heart went out to them and wondered how they could hear the charges of crimes done to their children.

Is this a dragging or a flambe? Either way, I like my way better. You have to bury them anyway, so live burial kills two birds with one stone (plus it's cheap). No specialized equipment or personnel needed - just someone to add sedatives to the food and someone to plastic-tie and move the condemned into the pine box.

It is a clear examnple of why death penalty is to permanently remove such evil from the planet in an effort to ensure that no human ever have to be in fear of being harmed by such demons.

May such be the end of these vile souls.

The usual reason. The victims and perps were the wrong colors.

Thank you both regarding the reactions - I feel the same way.

Now, as far as punishment - I’ve been watching Channon’s dad everytime I see him on television - I say just turn them all over to him.

They all deserve the death penalty, but I’ll be surprised if Cobbins gets it.

Unfortunately, prisoners eventually die of old age on our death row. Our death penalty is all bark and no bite.

I agree with the chains part........but they should be used to restrain these TCBE savages to steel posts and then roasted alive with a blow torch, S.L.O.W.L.Y, until dead. I’m sure there would be a few that could/would perform this punishment... myself included. send ‘em to hell the most painful and agonizing way imaginable.

From the article to linked to: Prosecutors will try to show his crimes are so heinous he deserves death...

Prosecutors will try to show? We need to take back our country asap. It may even be too late.

A simple hanging would do. No need to rationalize barbarity.

That need be the only rationale for the death penalty. Who cares if other perps aren’t influenced. (only libs believe that anyway)
