It'll be a 'holiday' tree only inside the state Capitol this coming winter.

And exactly WHAT “holiday” would that be? The only thing I can think of that happens at that time of year is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bastards.
It’s a Christmas Tree in these United States of America.
To: stevestras
Yep, we’ve got to be politically correct.
I wonder if Obama will send Christmas greetings to the American people and the world, as this will be his 1st Christmas as president. He sent Ramadan greetings to the Muslim world, not some generic holiday message.
To: Patriot62
I can only imagine how trashy the decorations will be the next several Christmases. Nancy and Laura, oh how I miss you.

Exactly, it is a Christmas tree. Every time you hear that bull, correct the person you heard it from. There is no holiday tree, however there is a Christmas tree. Use ridicule towards someone who calls it a holiday tree, make them look and feel foolish. It is a Christmas tree. Take out a crayon and draw them a picture of a Christmas tree, tell them that you used a crayon so they would have an easier time of understanding what it is.

FYI, it’s been a “holiday” rather than Christmas for many years so this is nothing new. (Though of course the tree thing is just stupid, since no other religions/traditions - except I guess pagan maybe - have a tree symbol at that time of year.)
President Bush’s cards were always “Happy Holidays” cards ASAIK.

Christmas day is on Friday, December 25th. I’m assuming that will be a regular day of work for the government. You cannot pay employees for a holiday if you don’t officially acknowledge it.
No Christmas Tree - No Day Off.

Maybe with an etched symbol to remind them it’s no ordinary ‘Holiday’.
To: Patriot62
I expected and predicted this in February, after learning that the Obamas do not exchange Christmas gifts. Guess that means no one in the WH staff, friends, dignataries, etc. will get anything from B. Hussein O. this Christmas.
And...I also predict...there will be no National Christmas tree on the White House lawn to be lit by the _resident. Just wait.
The WH lawn is only to be used by the Obamas...for kids swingsets, junglegyms, play areas, having a beer, walking the dog, and Michelle's toxic garden. But, Americans probably won't see a brightly lit Christmas Tree there as long as Zero is in office

One thing I’ve learned to do to the libs is return their “Happy Holidays” greeting to them by saying: “Happy generic holiday to you too.”
It ticks them off. They know fully well what they are doing.
