This all begins with the amendment that allowed Congress to tax income. The problem with this argument is that the congress had taxing power before the 16th ammendment- it was just highly limit. All the 16th amendment did was to open up a huge income stream for the congress. The limits on the spending powers of congress where in no way eased by the 16th amendment.
I will apologize however for using the term old geezers. Not cool.
