they will kill us all
I was working on the Non-Line of Sight Canonn(NLOS)until the Obama Admin killed the Future Combat Systems Program.
The NLOS Cannon was a Self Propelled 155m Howitzer that had a fully automated loader, breech, fuze setter, magazine, and ammo ID system. The automation would have brought the crew down to 2 soldiers or Marines instead of 6. It was an impressive piece of machinery. We were a year away from production when Barry asked Congress to kill the program.
BAE Systems then cut 1000 jobs, one of which was mine.
Back in the early 90’s, I read a book by Arthur C Clark (I think) about what he thought the future would be like. The one thing I remember was that he said wars would be fought by robots, not men. Whenever I see that Air Force commercial with the drones, I remember that book. Art was right.
