Ted Kennedy's Top Drunk Moments
The Shark Guys ^ | 8/26/2009 | Shark Guy

The real-life Mayor Quimby and America’s answer to Boris Yeltsin, Senator Edward “Ted”, “Teddy”, “Somebody Tell That Drunk Guy To Put Some Clothes On and Get Out of My Restaurant”, Kennedy is dead.

Edward Moore Kennedy’s place in the hierarchy of great Kennedy men might have been foreshadowed at his birth when his father chose to name him after the family chauffeur, and he most likely would not have risen as fast in politics or remained out of incarceration for as long had he not been to the oyster house born. That said, what he lacked in the ability to shape history and inspire generations, he more than made up for in shameless debauchery. And as the authors of the definitive book on the subject, we can appreciate that.

While the standard tributes roll in, and Kennedy’s years in the US Senate are celebrated as something other than the constant reminder of failed promise they must have been for a guy everybody thought would be president, we thought we would pay tribute to a side of Kennedy that kept late-night comedians in material for decades: the shameless, drunkard side that entertained and horrified people from around the world. One of the great debauched sons of privilege has died and while we could not hope to cover even a fraction of the man’s legendary exploits, we figured we would at least offer you a highlight reel of some of those not kicked under the carpet or to which the local constabulary did not turn a blind eye.

Here then are Ted Kennedy’s Top Drunk Moments!

Despite the MSM's "lionization" of him (why choose the term "lion" exactly?), this man was a self-serving, womanizing, drunken, lets-keep-the-blacks-poor, baby-killing, elitist. I don't believe he "championed" anything that didn't benefit him first. The Catholic church should grow a pair and excommunicate him posthumously.

He’s dead? Well, pretty soon, the tabloids will be spotting him playing tennis with Elvis, Mikey Jackson, and both JFK’s.

In my front yard is a pole with a flour sack half filled with soil from my perrenial bed. I Attached it 1/2 way up yesterday .. wonder how long before the community makes me take down my “dirtbag at half mast” representation.

Anybody want to make a wager?

Is Foster Brooks still around? Thought maybe he could offer a toast at the funeral.

I still haven’t seen the clip of him introducing Clinton in 1996 where he starts talking gibberish. Was probably drunk then too.

Teddy was a class act, wasn’t he? I keep going back to the Jack Nicholson line in “As Good as it Gets” about a woman being the same as a man sans reason and accountability. In actually, if you remove those things from a wealth man’s son, you get Ted Kennedy.

"If ted had no been born into money he would been the local town drunk."

Not Likely!

The local Town/Neighborhood Drunks are usually nice people who have a weakness they can not control. They usually don't hurt anyone but themselves.

This sorry sack of human excrement was a nasty piece of work.

What he did to Sam Alito's wive at the Senate Confirmation Hearings deserved a severe a$$ kicking. I happen to live in the town Sam Alito grew up in and folks here are still talking about it.

Just my two cents.

I hadn’t heard that story. What did Kennedy do to Justice Alito’s wife?

"I hadn’t heard that story. What did Kennedy do to Justice Alito’s wife?"

His questioning of Alito during the hearing was scandalous. He accused Alito of being a sexist and a racist.

Kennedy's behavior was so bad even his Senate Colleagues had to apologize to the Alito family. Mrs. Alito was so upset during the hearing, she was crying and had to remove herself.

Some folks will say that this is fair game in the high stakes of National Politics. Proudly, I am not one of those folks.

I remember encountering Kennedy on his boat in a New England port..drink in hand. Also his drinking buddy, Dodd in a bar in Seattle..where I bought him a couple drinks, much to the dismay of his lady escourt.
