The article is basically a puff piece, but, considering it appears in the Globe, is surprisingly balanced. (Note that I say, "considering it appears in the Globe" before you flame me ;-) )

I would not have posted it, but that first sentence from the piece I felt was the most appropriate epitaph for this man.

Not surprisingly, Obamacare is being renamed as ‘Kennedycare’ and Congress will be asked to ‘pass it for Teddy’. I doubt that Teddy ever read any of the bills—he was fighting brain cancer at the time.

Well, we'll have to see what Jim Thompson has to say about that!

Hmmm, kind of like how I feel about the birth certificate issue.

“Kennedycare” is appropriate because it’s dead in the water.

I believe his legacy SHOULD be about health care—the kind he provided for Mary Jo!

Of the people with the AIDS virus for whom Kennedy was instrumental in securing government funding that now covers half of all Americans living with HIV.

How many cancer and heart patients died while money was spent on a rather small populace with the aids virus.

“spend most of his life in the legislative trenches, fighting, bill by bill, to provide government aid to people in need of health care, education, and a road out of poverty. The programs he championed may not have solved those problems”

That simple fact that there is more of it today then before he started his path, I’d say he failed.

I always thought kennedy to be a real scumbag.

Glad I could toast to his death. I hope he has to answer for the death of that girl in the car.

You can tell something about him from all the sucking up the liberals are doing. For most of his life he was a drunkard and a lout who was masquerading as a powerful politician who got the power from his family smuggling booze.

The whole family is a power mad bunch of crap. That type of people is why my forebears shot redcoats. The deadheads who worship them are parasites on the people.

It’s not Teddy’s fault that he was an idiot, there are millions of them. The citizens of Mass are the real question here. They keep sending morons like Kennedy, Frank, Kerry, ect. to the congress??? WTF?
