Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa -- apparently a heavy sleeper -- was on the defensive Wednesday about why he's been violating the city's watering law.
At a news conference celebrating the city's reduction in water use, the mayor said his home's sprinklers were in use during illegal times because of a glitch in the system.
"Thank you for alerting me to this issue," Villaraigosa said Wednesday.
The mayor told NBC4's Joel Grover that he was unable to hear the sprinklers because he's a heavy sleeper.
This idiot needs to be driven out into the Mojave desert and tied to a cactus.....
Did he pay the fine or are fines only for the little people?
How is this man the mayor of LA? Talk about painting a bulls-eye on your property for every burglar in Southern California...

The chucklehead thanked them for alerting him. I can imagine if the water patrol came to my door, I could just thank them......DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO!
Here in west central Florida, we are given one “glitch” warning.
Typical Democrat....”Do as I say, not as I do”.
Didn’t Lu Parker hear the sprinklers?
“Desert landscaping for thee but not for me.”
lol!
Guess not. Lu’s obviously been asleep for the past 6 months.
Typical liberal, they dont live by the rules they make.
“How is this man the mayor of LA? “
Immigration...legal and illegal.
Gee, that's nice of them. Bow to the all merciful government! Thank you, thank you, thank you. SPIT!
Where I live we don't have to worry about enough water. I live near one of the Great Lakes. Our only worry is that the liberals will find a way to divert Great Lakes water to places like west central Florida or Arizona.
That kind of excuse won’t work for ordinary people. But if you’re high up in the party of corruption, you get away with whatever you want.
Heavy sleeper. Sounds like he was watering at night. Why would one water at night? For the same reason the mills used to clear the tubes at night; so it can’t be seen.
California: One party rule.
The first time is a warning if I remember correctly. In fairness I can’t hear my sprinklers either and I have old single pane windows (soon to be upgraded). The mayor probably has the new double pane windows. Unless the window is open you’d never hear them.
