Maybe she phrased it wrong. Maybe liberal blogger Melissa Lafsky writing in Huffpo this morning had a brain cramp and wrote something she didn't want to.
Maybe aliens made her do it.
Somehow, some explanation must be given for this kind of incredible, tone deaf, idiocy:
"We don't know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she'd have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don't know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.
Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn't automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted's death, and what she'd have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.
Who knows -- maybe she'd feel it was worth it."

So perhaps Melissa should off herself for the One.
"What a despicable thing to write."
Amen to that.
ALL HAIL TO OUR LORD GOD TEDWARD KENNEDY!!!!
You know, maybe I should start reading the Puffington Host regularly. My wife tells me I need to lose a few pounds, and the crap emanating from there is enough to kill anyone's appetite!
self ping for later.
So perhaps Melissa should off herself for the One.

Best idea I’ve heard all day.
Leftists are insane.
>> So perhaps Melissa should off herself for the One.
Great idea! She could be buried WITH Uncle Teddy — it’s not too late!
Better yet, she could talk another one of her liberal nutcake buddies into offing herself as well, and they could BOTH be buried with the old lecher! You know — sort of a “corpse sandwich”! He’d LIKE that...
Who knows — maybe she’d feel it was worth it.”
Only a whack left liberal can hear the one ball bearing rolling around in their tin can brain.....
Since the author can not ask Mary Jo, why didn’t she ask her relatives. I don’t think they would speak to highly of the good Senator.
All the swimmer had to do was break the glass....
What planet do these people come from? They are sick.
Please remind your friends that you thought Kennedy was a jerk and deserves no eulogy from the TOTUS.(I’m sure they will be there in church).
We let liberals get away with this crap because we won’t stand up and be heard. Get in their face. Make it unfashinable to be a liberal..remind them of their friends and leaders.
Maybe she wasn’t struggling. Maybe there was no water in her lungs because her airway was “offline”.
Maybe she floated immediately up into the “airpocket” in the car.
Maybe Ted had no reason to “save” Ms. K.
Conjecture.
Proof of the total dementia of mainstream dems.
Seriously, Mary Jo saved us from this wind bag in the White House!
When you think about it you realize this shows the Leftist mindset: Chappaquiddick is just something that happened to this really nice caring pleasant humane guy, who was just out minding his own business, having a little party. An accident. Not at all his fault, everything he did was understandable. Sad, but hey, he bears up under the tragedy and makes jokes about this unfortunate turn of events.
Instead of a window into the soul of a totally corrupt self-centered liar and coward who left a another person to die because of the risk to his political career. And the reality that the Leftists are all right with him leaving her to die, because he will be on their side in their battles to fix (and I mean in the sense of castration) American society.
In 2009 there seems to be a common theme among leftists that people should be willing to sacrifice their lives for the greater good of society. We shouldn’t resist dying for ObamaCare. After all, Mary Jo gave all for Teddy.
This kind of thinking eventually leads to mass murder by tyrants.
“I got a tombstone hand and a graveyard mind,
“I”m just twenty-eight and I don’t mind dyin’,
“Now who do you love,
“Who do you love?
“Yeah, who do you love?”
Sick...sick...just very sick.

If she didn’t mind dying for Blimpy, then I can see how he can joke about it so easily. It all makes sense to me now.
Not only are we who disagree “unAmerican”, we are part of the larger set called “ecotumors”, whick also includes silly liberals, tho they don’t know it yet.
And getting older won’t be good for our survival, either.
Have a good ObamaWorld weekend!
I’m sure the millions of vietnamese and cambodians didn’t mind dying for Ted either.
Still, ignorance doesn’t preclude a right to wonder.”

Melissa, you’re way, way past ignorance.
“Seriously, Mary Jo saved us from this wind bag in the White House!”
Yeah, but then we would have only had to tolerate him for four, maybe eight years and not the 52 years that we had to.
There’s always a bright side.
Sometimes the libs go beyond parody.
This broad should buckle herself into her car seat drive off a bridge so that Euro-Socialist bureaucracy can have another martyr.
Many feminists saw Clinton’s victims the same way. Twisted.
Oh my gosh, you are so right! They are twisted.
Gotta be Daddy issues.
I will never understand!!!
They just get sicker and sicker with their bs.
Investigators found it difficult to understand why he was crossing Dyke Bridge when he said he was attempting to reach Edgartown which was in the opposite direction. They also could not understand why he was driving so fast on this unlit, uneven, road. They also could not work out how Kennedy escaped from the car. When it was recovered from the water all the doors were locked. Three of the windows were either open or smashed in. If Kennedy, a large-framed 6 foot 2 inches tall man could manage to get out of the car, why was it impossible for Mary Jo Kopechne, a slender 5 foot 2 inches tall, not do the same?
Local experts could not understand why Kennedy (and later, Markham and Gargan) could not rescue Kopechne from the car. It also surprised investigators that Kennedy did not seek help from Pierre Malm, who only lived 135 metres from the bridge. At the inquest Kennedy was unable to answer this question.
There were also doubts about the way Kopechne died. Dr. Donald Mills of Edgartown, wrote on the death certificate: "death by drowning". However, Gene Frieh, the undertaker, told reporters that death "was due to suffocation rather than drowning". John Farrar, the diver who removed Kopechne from the car, claimed she was "too buoyant to be full of water". It is assumed that she died from drowning, although her parents filed a petition preventing an autopsy.
Other questions were asked about Kennedy's decision to swim back to Edgartown. The 150 metre channel had strong currents and only the strongest of swimmers would have been able to make the journey safely. Also no one saw Kennedy arrive back at the Shiretown Inn in wet clothes. Ross Richards, who had a conversation with Kennedy the following morning at the hotel described him as casual and at ease.
Kennedy did not inform the police of the accident while he was at the hotel. Instead at 9am he joined Gargan and Markham on the ferry back to Chappaquiddick Island. Steve Ewing, the ferry operator, reported Kennedy in a jovial mood. It was only when Kennedy reached the island that he phoned the authorities about the accident that had taken place the previous night.
This woman is mentally ill..
Dead Ted Health Care Reform!"
Unfortunately, her parents have always been pretty quiet about the "accident". It seems that the large payoff from the Kennedy's did the trick.
I’d like to send that pic to every libtard shedding a tear for Captain Oldmobile.
There were scratch/struggle marks inside the car indicating she made an active effort to escape.
Fact.
When I first saw “David Kopetchny”, I thought “some faker can’t even bother to get Kopechne’s name spelled right.” But then I looked it up and found that Mary Jo’s father had changed the spelling of his name from Kopetchny to Kopechne.
Anyway, nice find. I can see why Mr. Kopetchny is angry to see all the praise heaped on the swimmer.
If only Mary Jo had the chance to trade places with your dumb ass, Melissa!
Mary Jo struggled to LIVE!

He said he took a wrong turn and drove his car into eight feet of water. He got of the car, returned to the party and brought two other men to the scene of the accident. When they were unable to rescue the girl, he told the others he would call the police.
He did not. Instead, he returned to his motel, spoke to an employee there, began making telephone calls to associates and went to sleep. All that time Mary Jo Kopechne remained in the car.
Possibly she could have been saved. The captain of the Edgartown, Massachusetts scuba team believes she may have stayed alive in an air pocket for several hours.
The next morning the car and the girls body were found. When Kennedy finally completed an accident report, he didnt even know her name, referring to her simply as Miss Mary ___.
There was a conflict on what time the accident had occurred. A sheriff said he had seen Kennedys car hours after Kennedy said the accident occurred. The senator said he based his estimate on the clock of the rented car he was driving. When it was determined the car didnt have a clock, Kennedy changed his story.
Like any doorstop couldn’t have done Ted’s job. Give me a fortune and a dynastic family name to trade on and I’ll show you how well I can play to the cheap seats. Hell, I’d have a few homeless guys over to play tennis every other Tuesday. Granted, it must have been tough growing up with a Dad who placed such grand expectations on you but Ted handled the pressure with astounding mediocrity.
No loyalty to country just ideology.
Yes he did. That’s because he knew anything and that means anything he did even if it was wrong would be taken care of and he would not suffer.
He is surely suffering in hell now.
I feel like one of the pod people in Invasion of the Body Snatchers: "Not One of Us"
Savage is right. Liberalism is a mental disorder. This might be the most ludicrous, reprehensible and thoroughly insane statement I’ve ever heard from a leftist. And talk about taking in some territory!
