Below, release from Kirk....
McCain to Endorse Kirk at Veterans Gathering in Glenview
McCain: "The people of Illinois deserve a Senator who will restore honest government, strengthen our national security, fight for veterans and bring fiscal discipline to Washington. Mark Kirk has my strongest endorsement."
Who: Congressman Mark Kirk Senator John McCain
When: 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30
Where: Glenview Park Center, Lakeview A Room 2400 Chestnut Ave. Glenview, IL
What: Senator John McCain will endorse Congressman Mark Kirk for U.S. Senate at a veterans gathering in Glenview on Sunday afternoon. Kirk, an early supporter of McCain's presidential bid during the 2008 primary election, will stress his commitment to fiscal discipline, national security, and veterans care.
Kirk and McCain, both Navy veterans, developed a close relationship in 2000 when the Senator twice came to Chicago to stump for then-candidate Kirk in one of the nation's most competitive open seat congressional elections. In 2001, Kirk backed McCain's campaign finance reform legislation, and Kirk remains the only member of the House Appropriations Committee to swear off earmark spending projects - an issue long championed by McCain. The two have also travelled together to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Following the veterans meeting, McCain will headline a North Shore fundraiser expected to raise nearly half a million dollars for Kirk's Senate bid.

Sick.
From Google: Representative Mark Kirk has voted in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens.
Time for Palin to cut all ties with McNut...
BTTT
Kirk voted for Cap and Trade. Defeat him at all costs.
The death kiss!

Freepmail me to get ON or OFF this list.
McLame is aiding and abetting the Enemy.
Add me to that list, eh. I hate RINOs.
McCain *is* the enemy.
McCain and anybody he endorses is just part of what ails America. McCain and his sickening herd of RINOs need to be put to pasture.
The people hate you, all of you freaking dems and RINOs.
you know, at this point I am sooo sick of McCain using his totally mediocre or less military history as brownie points that I wish someone would do an honest poll of Veterans only regarding their opinions of him. A simple question phrased around the Constitution and Military/Congressional Oaths of office with a 1 - 10 scale for the answer would be sufficient.
Yes, I know quite well that he was a POW, but I also know that very many of the others were tortured to a greater degree than he was, and gave up zero military information in accordance with the Code of Conduct - name rank and serial # only.......and I am unaware of other Vn POW’s who made it out alive who encouraged and assisted Jimmuh Carter in rewriting/weakening the Code.
Amazing. McCain just does not care. I really think he hates his fellow American citizens. Illegal Immigrants, begone!
He also voted for Cap & Trade, voted against drilling for our own oil on our own shores, and has his own "Obama-lite" health care reform plan.
I live in Illinois and it's simply depressing that once again there isn't a true Conservative to vote for in ANY state wide race in 2010.
There's no way in hell that Mark Kirk is getting my vote. I know a sniveling, snot-nosed, moderate liberal Republican when I see one.
What do you think of Matt Murphy for Governor?
All in favor of this. I hope Maverick spends every waking moment by Kirk’s side rather than screwing us in the Senate. Than I hope they are both defeated.
Sarah Palin needs to endorse a REAL Conservative and slap McCain’s guy down.
RINO ALERT
I want to know where Mike Ditka is? He showed some interest last time. Too much scrutiny?
WHO?
In other words, Mrs. Ditka didn't want Mike's name dragged through the mud, so she vetoed the idea.
I fear McCain more than Obama. We can defeat Obama’s health care bill very easily but if McCain takes the RINO approach and helps him come up with a “bi-partisan” bill the outcome to our medical system will be the same with no clear party at fault.
Go Mark Kirk, I support you all the way! (I’ll take a RINO over dem in a very Blue State anyday)
Ah, I see. Well, these gentlemen thank you for your support:

Ok, why the hell doesn't a conservative run for statewide office in IL ?
hopefully by 2010 it’ll be former Senator John McCrap
I agree. Unless these faux conservative crybabies can win the republican primary, to hell with them.
People in AZ believe in all that.
All I’ll say about Kirk is at least he has more cajones then our senior Senator Dick-less Durbin.
Even though he was one of eight Republicans to vote for cap-and-trade, he at least had the guts to face his constituents in town hall meetings. I was in attendance at one of them, and he caught Hell. There was a lot of anger about what he did. He knows he did wrong. He admits it and is moving on.
Unlike his fellow Congresscritter Melissa Bean, who had a teleconference with constituents, Kirk had been out there face-to-face. Dick-less Durbin comes up with some lame excuse, but Kirk was saw and heard the anger.
I don’t necessarily agree Kirk is the best choice, but he showed me he could man-up and face adversity. Durbin is a POS (but you already knew that).
Matt Murphy is currently serving as Illinois State Senator. He’s my hometown boy from Palatine. He has solid conservative credentials and has thrown his hat into the Governors race. I think he has a good chance of winning it.
Forget it.
"I hate Illinois RINOs"
Can the other guy run as an independent? If he loses the nomination, he should and show Johnny boy he’s not really the king after all. Every time the Rinos step in and do this, they should shown what a losing idea it is and what fat losers they are!
EPIC FAIL.
Kirk’s a Democrat.
By my count we have at least FOUR running for Governor and no less than SEVEN running for the U.S. Senate at the moment. That's the problem in this state — ALL the conservative activists want the top job, nobody is willing to settle for something smaller. So in the meantime we have no conservatives for key offices like Secretary of State (I'm told the one Republican who announced his candidacy for SOS is a RINO).
CONSERVATIVES RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR

Matt Murphy

Dan Proft

I've personally met all four conservative candidates for Governor (there are three other Republicans running as well, I don't think they can be considered good conservatives by any reasonable measurement though).
Matt Murphy has a very solid conservative voting record (90% conservative rating from the United Republican Fund), and has a real sharp mind on budget issues. I helped get him elected in both the primary and general election in 2006 and knocked on doors for him. His winning that open seat was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal year for the GOP. I was leaning in favor of Murphy for Governor a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he's been disappointing lately. You guys know he's personally endorsed and lent his support to RINO Mark Kirk in the primary, right? I sent him an email expressing my concerns about that and got no response. He's also flip-flopped on Lauzen’s SB600 and is now against it. He's still on my short list for Governor, but I have to take those issues into account when I decide my candidate. Good guy, but no longer my top choice.
Adam Andrzejewski has a huge cult of worshippers online, but this doesn't seem to be translating into much real world support in the polls, so it seems something like the Ron Paul phenomena. Why so many conservatives love this guy I don't know. Apparently they want an “outsider” and therefore think anyone who's ever held an office in their life is a bad guy. He's another one who whines about the lack of conservatives running down the ticket but is unwilling to set the example and run for something small himself. Andrewjewski sounds very good on the issues but his credentials for the highest office in the state are basically “I ran a phone book company”. Honestly, the least impressive bio of any of the conservative candidates. I have a better political resume than this guy.
I could say something about Bill Brady, but it might cause some flaming from the “Oberweis woulda won in ‘06 and wuz robbed cuz of Brady!!” crowd on FR. The fact some Oberweis people are convinced Brady is evil incarnate is a concern of mine as it will hurt his chances if they stay home and sulk if he's the nominee.
Proft is a strong conservative who has been political active for years and also the most outspoken candidate against the combine. He also has a lot of personal baggage and negatives. Too detailed to discuss here.
Basically I'm undecided for Governor.
CONSERVATIVES RUNNING FOR SENATE:

Robert Zadek

Eric Wallace
http://www.wallaceforillinois.com/
Now here I have made an endorsement. None of them are first tier candidates, however, Eric Wallace, IMO, is the best of the anti-Kirk candidates. A couple of other ones can point to prior “elected” office but these were local, non-partisan offices. Wallace has the best command of the issues, biggest network in GOP politics, strongest life story, and most potential to attraction national interest. Unfortunately the conservative vote is now being split as a large number of conservative activists have decided Pat Hughes is the best choice, supposedly because he has personal wealth he can tap into (it certainly can't be because he political chops are better than Wallace's). A lot of these guys have no shot at a U.S. Senate race and should get out and endorse Kirk. Others like Arrington and Lowery sound like good guys but now is not the time or place for them to run for this office. I would hope they would consider running for a difference office so they don't split the conservative vote with Wallace.
Kirk claims he "learned his lesson" about cap-and-trade after the flood of outraged emails and phone calls, yet he pointedly REFUSED to say whether he'd chance his vote if he could do it over again and REFUSED to pledge he won't vote for cap-and-trade in the Senate. Seems to me Kirk is still on board for Obama's socialist agenda, the only thing he "learned" is hide it when he has to win a GOP primary.
That's the problem with RINOs, whenever their vote "counts" they stab you in the back. Kirk was on "our side" when his vote didn't make a difference like Bush's tax cuts and the GOP's token opposition to porkulus, but when the voting was down to the wire on cap-and-trade and reporting illegals, Kirk made sure the Dems won. RINOs deliver for nobody but the left.
That's my concern about what will happen if we elect Mark Kirk to the Senate. Supposedly Kirk is "against" Obamacare at the moment and "taking the lead to draft the Republican alternative". If it's Kirk doing the drafting, the "Republican alternative" will just be a slightly reworded version of Obama's bill with Kirk's name on it. (if you don't believe me, look at all the other bills that Kirk "took the lead" on "drafting" like the "bipartisan" Assault Weapons Ban)
Obama will get 90% of what he wants and the mainstream media will be able to sell it as "bipartisan" with a "well respected Republican Senator on aboard"
These socialist RINOs just make life easier for the Dems. Does anything think Senator Roland Burris is going to be helpful to the Dems in passing Obamacare? They won't touch him with a 20 ft. pole.
Replacing Burris with Kirk is going from the frying pan into the fire.
I suppose you’d rather have a democrat win? I stand by what I said, if Kirk is the best we can do in a very Blue State then so be it, he has my full support.
I’d prefer a conservative like Peter Fitzgerald, but at the end of the day I want to see an “R” own that seat instead of a “d.”
Excuse me. He’s a Democrat. Just because he’s running as the Combiner annointed selection of the “R” wing doesn’t make him a Republican. He’s not. He’s a liberal Democrat who will likely make that official if he wins the November 2010 runoff between himself and the Combiner-annointed rodent (probably Alexi Giannoulias).
Dr. Eric Wallace is the REPUBLICAN in the race:
http://www.wallaceforillinois.com/
Call him what you want, but he’s a Repub in a very Blue State. I wish Peter Fitzgerald would run again, he’s a real true conservative, but as I said earlier, I’d rather have an “R” own that seat than a “d.”.
Based on his voting record, Kirk is a defacto Democrat. I don’t care what party label he tosses next to his name on the ballot, in reality electing him results in Harry Reid’s 61st vote. On every major issue conservatives care about — abortion, guns, traditional families, reducing government, cutting spending, the WOT, immigration, energy independence, etc., Kirk is on the wrong side. Moose, if Kirk is acceptable you might as well endorse Robert Byrd for the U.S. Senate because Byrd is probably better on major issues (immigration, cap-n-trade, etc.) than Kirk is. Kirk is so liberal than I located over a dozen card-carrying DEMOCRAT legislators in Illinois who got higher “conservative” ratings than Kirk last year.
More liberal than Democrats?
LOLOLOLOL.
That's really sad, if Freepers are willing to endorse a candidate who's more liberal than the Democrats around him, simply because of the letter following the candidate's name.
The United Republican Fund of Illinois is the state equivalent of the ACU, it rates candidates overall on how often they adhere to conservative values. Two rural southern Illinois Democrat state legislators scored the best of all the Dems, with a score of 67.5% conservative last year. Kirk got a 40%.
Now that’s just wrong.
