I'm going to make an unpopular statement here, but I think the pro-life movement would do much to advance its cause by admitting that there is a population problem.

When I say this to conservatives, I invariably get the answer that there is no population problem. And I know the standard answer about poverty and starvation being due to the poor distribution of resources and I don't buy it.

I am a staunch pro-lifer. I think we just have to stress that unethical solutions will harm us and we have to find ethical ways to stop the rising tide.

That is just not true. There is more empty space on this planet than there is inhabited space. There are more than enough resources to feed, house, heat, cool, and clothe a much larger population. The greed of dictators and the global elite that control populations is the problem. Man’s inhumanity to man is the problem.
Every new life is a hope for the future. The way populations are being controlled is evil. There are nature’s own barriers to overpopulation should it ever occur. This world has never reached that point despite what stupid men say.

Populations are skewed in these countries, way out of balance with the space they have. It is misleading to say that any of these countries are overpopulated. They are herded into urban centers. That is something else again. Look at the wide open spaces of the US. And yet we are discouraged from having children. There is no reason for it except to keep the population UNDER control.

we could give every human being one acre of land with a home upon it, including all the necessary infrastructure to support it, including schools, hospitals, parks, streets, water and power plants etc.

....in Australia alone!

And we'd still have the rest of the planet for agriculture and vacation getaways.

Your information is errant.

This does not even factor in the available data that clearly shows populations of most nations are already in decline and below replacement rates.

The problem with people groups suffering can be directly linked to the tyrants who rule over them, not the number of "uselss eaters" against whom, as you cryptically post "...we have to find ethical ways to stop the rising tide."

Not very subtle by you.
And certainly not very humanitarian.
...oh and yes...certainly not very "polupar" of a notion either.
