Ted Kennedy's wife good fit for Senate seat, say pols (PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!)
NY Daily News ^ | 8/31/2009 | Michael Saul

Posted on 08/31/2009 3:53:15 AM PDT by tobyhill

Vicki Kennedy should be considered as a potential interim replacement for her late husband in the U.S. Senate, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle said Sunday.

"I think Vicki ought to be considered," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said on CNN's "State of the Union."

"She's a very brilliant lawyer. She's a very solid individual," Hatch said of Sen. Edward Kennedy's widow. "She certainly made a difference in Ted's life, let me tell you. And I have nothing but great respect for her."

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), a close friend of Ted Kennedy, said he too would be supportive of Vicki Kennedy if she wanted the job. So far, she's told friends she's not interested.

She's rich. Hatch is worth between 15 and 42 million.

Somebody needs to tell Hatch to shut the hell up. He’s becoming the Mormon Jesse Jackson. If there’s a camera nearby and a microphone he’s in front of it. He is milking Teddy’s death for all he can.

I've had enough hearing the Kennedy name. They've spent decades ruining this country and now is time to quit hearing their names. If she is appointed then most certainly with the idiots in Massachusetts she will be their for life.

Where is this drive for familial continuity coming from?!!!

This is just as wrong as every other instance. Follow the

Hatch disgusts me, this is nothing more than political
toadyism at it’s worst.

Baaaah. I’d say more but then I’d be banned!

So many people seem to love the idea of royalty. On the one hand, you have peasants who need to be ruled. On the other hand, you have certain families which are just better than other families, and they deserve to inherit all the political power so that they can tell us peasants what to do.

This is America?

They all need to go. Every last one of them. What an utter joke this is.

I'll bet the sentiment in Massachusetts and elsewhere across the fruited plain is near identical, "They all need to go. Except Kerry of course, he's okay." Or in Maryland, "They all need to go except Mikulski, she's okay." That's why all these turds (RINO's included) are Senators for life.

Please NO, not Caroline again.

I'm so sick of these sobbing RINOs that instead of taking advantage of a golden opportunity would rather assist the Rats in their destruction mode.

What the GOP needs to point out is that without the care Kennedy got for his tumor he would have been dead 2 years ago.

I read a Rasmussen poll just yesterday that claimed some 57% of the country wants to overturn congress. 70% if you asked Republicans.

If we as a country are serious about stopping these dynasty elections, then we need to start taking action now.

Yes, though if the interim bit won’t hold up in court, it could be a long-term prize. I could also see that clause being dropped for the widow, but not so easily for the nephew.

I'm reminded of the recording of one of those Kennedy voice impressionists from the 60's and 70's. On one of the albums was a very very short cut that simply said ...

"Today is election day. VOTE! Vote for the Kennedy of your chioce, but VOTE!"

According to Rasmussen, 57% of America agrees that they all should go.
As Shakespeare said “’tis a consummation devoutly to be wished”.
It would be nice to raise a very large flag for all of them to see that would tell all of them JUST THAT.
But HOW to muster enough challengers?

Hey I'm all for cleaning house but the libs have gerrymandered themselves into safe districts coast to coast. I live in Maryland. Mikulski is up next fall. The only remote chance that she'll be unseated is if former Gov Erlich(R) runs. He's no prize. And there's no way Steny, Van Hollen, Cummings, or that whackjob Donna Edwards are going to get tossed out of the House. They've promised all the slackers big chunks of your paycheck and free healthcare.

You are absolutely correct. Nothing will change until every single one of these people have been thrown out of office. We have allowed a political class to develop, that only cares about their personal power and the money that can accumulate. Term limits is the only answer.
