It has occurred to me tonight that I do not remember hearing that the President had planned to have a two week long vacation. I had understood that he would take last week then, come back to Washington and go back to work. I heard today that he is "taking the rest of the week off". Did I miss something? If not, I cannot recall a time when a healthy President suddenly took an unplanned week off. Can anyone offer some clarity to this mucky water? I am concerned...

Well, Obama does have a court date in a California federal district court coming up soon.

I was also wondering why he wasn’t all over the tv today, back from vacation. I think your theory is correct. Probably alot of brainstorming going on with Rahm, Axelrod, and friends as to what to do about the plummeting poll numbers.

Not defending 'The One"(TM) but IIRC, other presidents have been away from the WH for two weeks on vacation this time of year. And again, the White House is wherever the President is --- it takes a cast of thousands and costs us millions, but a president can do what he needs to do whereever he is.

NO! Obama did not plan on two weeks of vacation! That is totally wrong!
Only last week on Thursday did they say that the vacation week had been “So Stressfull” that he was going to take this week at Camp David as a week of Rest and Relaxation.
Personally, AMERICA would be better off if he just took the next 118 weeks or so OFF, like he did in the SENATE!
