Tom Ridge flip-flops about raising terror alerts to help Bush win re-election in 2004

Tom Ridge, former US Secretary of Homeland Security, has written in his new book that he was pressured by then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Attorney General John Ashcroft to "raise the terror alert to help Bush win re-election in 2004."

He explains that "Bush's approval ratings typically went up when the threat level was raised, adding that Ashcroft and Rumsfeld pushed to elevate it during a vigorous discussion."

After a number of former Bush administration officials called these claims "nonsense," Tom Ridge has decided to flip-flop on the issue, writes the USA Today.

He now says that this never happened and that he "did not mean to suggest that other top Bush administration officials were playing politics with the nation's security before the 2004 presidential election."

Unfortunately, his claim that he was pressured to raise terror alerts to help Bush win re-election in 2004 could not be taken out of the book before publication on September 1…

You can always count on at least one RINO to rear its head just when things are going good.

Conservatives are the people who actually buy books, so I predict this book will flop.

Democrats are too busy watching mind-numbing tv shows to buy books.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Attorney General John Ashcroft were “Ridged”:–verb (used with object), -stabbed, -stab bing. to attempt to discredit (a person) by underhanded means, as innuendo, accusation, or the like.

Ridge, former Democrat governor of Pennsylvania.....that gives a sense of his true allegence. Party first, followed by their huge egos. Everything else is far, far behind.

He is a commie along with Mccain notice all of the leftists citing Mccains comments on torture to atttack prior administration not a coincidence.
Mccain has the balls to patronize people at the town halls once again after saying before the election that Obama is not radical now instead of apologizing and doing all he can to fight for this nations freedoms he doubles down and says he supports the constitution just has different opinions. Rigde Graham Mccain Hatch have sold out along with many others their enemy are conservatives not communism.

“Now Ridge is seeking to calm a week-long media frenzy over his remarks. In an interview on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ – part of a publicity tour for the book – he said he was surprised that people ‘are hyperventilating.”

There is no point in asking Ridge why he didn’t do the ethical thing and simply resign when he was “pushed to elevate” the ratings, even though he presumably knew it was wrong and potentially illegal.

Like most politicians and lobbyists in DC, Tom Ridge is an irredeemable sleazebag.

He also thought Specter’s flip back to the Rats was a big hoot, and was chuckling and coy about whether he would or would not support his fellow Pennsylvanian in the future.

You can tell much about a man by his hair. In the case of Tom Ridge, I can tell that he has spent a good part of his life in front of a mirror with a comb testing hair products.
