GORDON Brown is heading for a crushing defeat at the next election with voters believing he is failing our troops in Afghanistan, a vital Sun poll reveals today.
Tory David Cameron will sweep to power with a 96-seat Commons majority, the survey predicts.
Seven in ten voters think Mr Brown's government is doing a "very bad" or "fairly bad" job of supporting Our Boys in the Afghan conflict.
In a further blow to the PM, twice as many voters believe Britain's armed forces would be better off in Mr Cameron's hands than Mr Brown's.
Our poll also reveals 51 percent of people think Mr Brown should have actively opposed the Scottish decision to release the Lockerbie bomber.
More than one third believe his release will do nothing to boost trade relations with Libya.
And a huge 57 percent say it would still NOT be worth letting him out of jail early even if it cemented trade deals.

Only 34 per cent believe he has the right team to lead Britain.

Some excellent graphics illustrating the poll numbers at the link.
You almost have to admire the British system.
I know ours has benefits over theirs and vice versa but how excellent would it be to throw Obama out in 2010. Of course there’s the whole checks and balances thing that I prefer to the parliamentary system.
I like David Cameron. He gets bad mention on Free Republic but at least he is a start in the right direction.
It's remarkable how often in this sort of poll people seem prepared to trust that somebody with absolutely no track record in any kind of office will do better than the present incumbent. Happens time after time, only to end, more often than not, in disappointment.
It certainly seems this would be a step in the right direction for Britain. It is too bad that the allowed the gov’t to swing so far to the left last election.
(Yeah- I know- we should talk!)
If it’s Brown, flush it down...
