According to his own admission (Galatians 1:13-14), prior to his conversion to Christianity, (Saul) Paul was a Pharisee who “violently persecuted” the followers of Jesus!
This pastor is off base. He’s no better than the radicals in obama’s camp. Only he’s on the other end of the spectrum politically.
This pastor needs to brush up on his Bible. It’s one thing to disagree, no matter HOW strongly. But he’s way crossing the line here. He’s stepping over into God’s territory and jurisdiction.
Folks like him give fodder for the left to portray folks like us as wacko right-wing extremists nuts who cling to our guns and religion.
He does not seem to trust in Yah'shua. He seems to lean on his own understanding. Yes and this brother seems to be acting in a provocative manner.

Then ALL Baptist ministers are acting in a ‘provocative’ manner for speaking boldly, IMO! The only thing I disagreed with him about was his take on the Iraq war. Everything else IS backed up by Scripture.

At least you can have sex standing up. The Baptists can’t - it might lead to dancing.
I'm aware of that. BUT. The fact that Obama is still alive and vertical indicates that he still is the recipient of mercy from God to be able to trust on Him to salvation. Praying that God will kill someone and send them to hell when God has said He wills to do otherwise is, at best, a fool's errand.

It is being taken out of context - by Anderson. He spends a lot of time arguing why Obama isn't the kind of political leader Paul was saying Christians should pray for (1 Timothy 2:1-2) - as if being a president instead of a king makes a difference to Paul's argument.
Actually this sermon is pretty tame compared to some of the drivel I've seen this man spew. He is an extremist, not because of how the media portrays him in this instance, but in spite of it.

Or does “Jesus Loves Me, no matter what, so I’ll do whatever I want, even kill millions of innocent babies” rule the day?
Look, y’all, I don’t know this preacher from Adam, but I’m just saying that this particular sermon is not exhorting people like Chris Broughton to run out and kill Obama the way the article portrays it to be. Whether Anderson is right or wrong in the long run, that’s up to God. I just know that the Bible says Jesus will NOT return meek as a lamb, but as a roaring lion and He WILL destroy those who do not follow Him! Which is the point Anderson is trying to make, I think.
Are Baptist ministers to ONLY preach on salvation and NOTHING else? I believe they are leaders of their flocks, and they are to teach on all aspects of life, and they are to name names and kick spiritual butt so to speak!
Of course, Jesus and salvation is the centerpoint of Christianity, but even He taught on other subjects many times, especially about the corruption of the Pharisees and Sadducees and scribes who were leaders of Israel back then!
Of course, Obama could always change his mind. His actions of the past seem to indicate he won’t...I believe God never gives up HOPE that a person will CHANGE their evil ways, but the Bible clearly indicates there IS a point of no return for those who do not.
