Wisconsin Schools Deciding How to Handle Obama Speech

School districts across Wisconsin are deciding whether students will watch a nationwide address directed at them from President Barack Obama.

The speech on the importance of education has raised concerns among some parents who view it as nothing more than political advertising within public schools.

Officials with both the Green Bay and Madison school districts say they've heard from a handful of parents with questions about whether the video will be shown next week. A spokesman for Republican state Rep. Steve Nass from Whitewater says their office has also fielded calls from concerned parents.

Madison schools is working on guidelines about how to handle the speech.

Green Bay intends to archive it and let teachers decide whether to show it later.

It is the PARENT’s responsibility to decide what their children watch or do not watch. The school needs to tell NObama to go pound sand.

School is for reading- writing- arithmetic.

Something that is sorely lacking in today’s “graduates”.

Terrible plan. Archive it and let students and parents decide whether a student watches it later. In no way allow a teacher to decide if and when to show it to his or her class.

Simple solution: Don't show it.

School is not for political indoctrination.

Period.

Let the kids know it's an "Anti-Obama Day", or "Say No to Indoctrination Day".

Making it a national school holiday in remembrance of WHAT he REALLY is would be sweet.

"School is for reading- writing- arithmetic."

Government schools are, first and foremost, about indoctrination to becoming good liberal citizens.

Academics is a distant second priority.

Just ask the esteemed curriculum expert Bill Ayers.

The friend, advisor and fellow Chicago revolutionary of the Obama's makes this fact very clear, and is influencing the direction of the schools far beyond the Chicago area now that his Comrades are running the government.

“We wanted the focus to be on kids,” the First Lady said, “because you can affect children’s behavior so much more easily than you can adults.” — Michelle Obama taking about her vegetable garden.

She goes on to say that her kids, after learning certain things, then “monitor our behavior more so than I was monitoring them.”

So if you can affect children’s behavior so much more easily than you can that of adults, and if those children then influence their parents’ “behavior,” why not go directly into the classroom?

School is for reading- writing- arithmetic.

That was true pre 1960,

Readin and Writin and Rithmatic
taught to the tune of a Hickory Stick

Now it is all about social engineering, gay marriage will be accomplished in the next generation as well as unlimited abortion on demand and Euthanasia, all courtesy of your Public Schools.

Mercifully, I have no time today for a song parody. So, I'm just going with the original lyrics from Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall"

We don't need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
