And Jackie’s on the cover of some glossy this month. Will they EVER get tired of Kennedy stories?

"I have never, ever, nor do I expect ever, to see a face more in grief," Mankiewicz later recalled.

Perhaps he should have checked out the faces of the elder Kopechnes a little over a year later.

The vile, despicable Kennedy family?

I think I’d prefer to hear about the 17 year old welfare mother who just conceived her fifth child, by a fifth unknown father.

But alas, that reminds me of the Kennedys after all......

He was the jokester all right. Loved to tell jokes about a girl who drowned in his car.

The baby brother was now in charge...
In charge? The SOB couldn't even manage his own life, let alone others'.

“The baby brother was now in charge; two assassins had forced him to become the head of the sprawling Kennedys.”

Why is that true when there were older sisters? Oh, I’m sorry, that was before Gloria Steinem became a household name.

... and that Jack Ruby was a self-appointed vigilante.

Bull turds. Ruby's involvement is what implicates the mob. Anything Bobby said is suspect because he would not have wanted the world to know of John's and Joe's involvement with the mob.

It’s a sad story about JFK, frankly, if he were running in the Republican party most of the republicans would be left of him and he’d get my vote. That’s how far we’ve drifted.

It took almost an hour before he got through to Bobby’s Hickory Hill home in a Virginia suburb.

Would that be Bobby, future senator from NY?

While I appreciate Posner's investigation for his Case Closed book, I don't subscribe to his conclusion. There are just too many coincidental connections for there not to have been an underlying movement to "get JFK". Notice that I don't even use the word "conspiracy" because I don't think it rises to that level. Additionally, this article gets the time wrong as JFK was shot at 1230 hrs Central Time or 1330 hrs Eastern where Ted was. At 1245 hrs Eastern, JFK was probably still at Love Field and very much alive.

In fairness, he was the Attorney General of the U.S. then. They usually live in D.C., not their home state.

The ninth of nine children, Teddy’s role in the family had been that of the court jester, the jokester who entertained friends and acquaintances with stories and jokes. The man who had spent much of his life getting laughs for his role as the baby brother must have known intrinsically that Jack’s death permanently changed his standing and role in the family.

Except for the fact that teddy really was the youngest, he reminds me of Fredo Corleone:
“You’re my kid brother and you take care of me. Did you ever think about that — did you ever once think about that. Send FREDO off to do this — send FREDO off to do that! Let FREDO to take care of some Mickey Mouse night club somewhere! Send FREDO to pick somebody up at the airport! I’m your older brother Mike and I was stepped over!”

"Would that be Bobby, future senator from NY?"

Yes, Bobby was as much a carpetbagger as Hillary. Moved to New York, where the residency requirements are extremely lax, just a few months before announcing his run for the US Senate. Guess he figured he couldn't demand Ted's seat from him so he grabbed another one.
