This is my first vanity post ever but I though it worth mentioning. I live near New Orleans and my son attends a public school elementary. I received a letter today informing me that my son's school would be showing Obama's address to the nation's school children on September 8th. It gives a basic synopsis as to what it will contain as well as informing me that I may want to go to www.ed.gov to learn more about it. It also tells me that I can chose to have my child not participate by letting the principal know and that they will find an alternate assignment for him outside the classroom. Has anyone else here recieved any similar letters from their children's schools. My daughter attends a Christian School and I've heard nothing from them but I don't know if they will even show it there, it's a very conservative Baptist School.

Actually the letter came from the superintendent of the all the public schools in my Parish.
I contacted our Superintendent and Principals and asked them to at least record it for screening, “like they would any other material”
They all liked the suggestion!

I just heard a news story here in Dallas/Ft Worth saying many of the school districts here were NOT show the speech, but would make a link available on the website. Many more are allowing parents to opt their child out of the speech.
I suppose you could ask the Admin Moderator to fix it but I’d say leave it for posterity
Just out of curiosity, what parish are you in? We’re in St. Charles, but we homeschool.

Every class in every classroom aught to be recorded so parents can see what is being put in their childs head.
Same goes for operating rooms, you should recieve a recording of everything that happens to you after you are sedated.

I cannot believe this country has gone and elected a psychotic power-hungry thug to the Oval Office. We might have committed national suicide and just not hit the ground yet.
They don’t want you to keep your child home because they loose money for every child that doesn’t come to school.
Be aware that Sept 8th is also the date that the Obama Birth Certificate comes up in court in California. He doesn’t want you to focus on that.
