A high-profile White House official is apologizing for a series of provocative statements on race and politics, and denying he ever backed a statement suggesting President Bush was complicit in the September 11 terror attacks, which appeared above his signature.
"Green jobs" pioneer Van Jones -- who made his name fusing environmentalism with anti-poverty efforts in California -- said in a statement through the White House press office:
In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize. As for the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.
My work at the Council on Environmental Quality is entirely focused on one goal: building clean energy incentives which create 21st century jobs that improve energy efficiency and use renewable resources.
The statement suggests that the White House will stand by Jones, who has become a top target of Fox News's Glenn Beck and other conservatives online, on talk radio and on cable news, which focused on his rhetorical attacks on "U.S. imperialism," among other targets and the allegation in some quarters that he is -- literally -- a "communist." The silence as Labor Day weekend approached had suggested that the ground was being laid for a quiet departure.
Jones apologized earlier for a profane reference to Republicans.
UPDATE: A White House official, seeking to explain Jones's signature on the 9/11 statement, says Jones "didn't carefully review" the document before signing it.
Nothing to see here, it was said YEARS ago
of course the White House will defend him, they agree with him. It says more about Obama and what he believes
Does this green-colla thug have a first name or is Van Jones his full name? Sounds like a last name.
> A White House official, seeking to explain Jones’s
> signature on the 9/11 statement, says Jones “didn’t
> carefully review” the document before signing it.
What business retains a high-profile employee who doesn’t carefully review a document before SIGNING it?
This guy should be fired for that alone.
He is a down right pinko liar!!!!
“UPDATE: A White House official, seeking to explain Jones’s signature on the 9/11 statement, says Jones “didn’t carefully review” the document before signing it.”
if BULLSH*T was snow, we’d be in for a blizzard
Get the **** out of my government, you stinking, lying, communist bastard.
It must have been over a thousand pages, would take two days to read and two lawyers to explain.
(If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize.)
Yet another non-apology “apology”. Notice that he didn’t apologize for making the statement, only for having offended people! LOL! I am more offended by the slimy “apology” than by the statements! It just shows that he hasn’t stopped trying to insult people’s intelligence.
Van Jones, with all his race-baiting 'get whitey' BS, is a fraud

bump
Needs to be said again...
How much Carbon was produced having those kids?

LOL! It’s getting old all the lying about things they’ve done, real old. They aren’t fooling anyone.
Keep digging morons.
Only themselves. They've lied for so long they wouldn't know the truth if it hit them between the eyes. Lucky for us Al Gore invented the Internet so we can keep track of their lies for them.
Why is everyone pussy footing around the bare bold face facts that this administration is full of Communists and Communist sympathizers including Mr. O. Whatever happened to integrity instead of this sneaking around, pussy, girly moves, not letting anybody know you are a Communist.
If I were one I would be proud of it. Afterall it would be my belief system and I would be open about the Communist ideology if I had any balls. These guys must not have any and that’s why there acting like a bunch of scared women.
Each day it seems:
The Sun rises
Ben Smith makes yet another excuse for Obozo
OMG. Now Van Jones is a blatant liar.
didn’t this Yale educated lawyer whom I am sure read any document makes some anti-american statements on 9-12-2001
Either he is telling the truth or he's lying in his statement today, right?
If he is lying today (i.e., he knew what he was signing when he signed it), then, first, he is a 911 wacko and, second, he has lied to the white House...meaning he has no judgment and is not trustworthy.
If he is telling the truth today (i.e., he didn't know what he was signing when he signed it), then he's a fool for signing something he didn't read and he lied to the 911 truth organization...meaning he has no judgment and is not trustworthy.
Either way, he has no judgment and is not trustworthy. Meaning he is a PERFECT FIT for the Obama Administration.
Sorry, not buying it. Ever see that program on TV, Lie to Me? C'mon get up in front of We the People and make your statement, get out from under the White House skirts of protection. Dare ya'. Double dog dare ya'. Stand up and answer for your treasonous statements.
This whole 0bama administration is a misquote, misread, failed to review, misunderstood BS of a lying ....ok...I'll get myself banned if I keep rolling ....
The one thing these folks didn't count on was a knowledgeable base of Americans old enough to know the difference between what they are trying to 'sell' us and a snake oil salesman.
Van Jones isn't who I want to hear from either. 0bama needs to answer for his appointment as adviser to the President.
Van obviously has psychological issues. No doubt about that after all his rants. LOL! The guy is psycho plain and simple.
First, fellow travelers with Jones must be really impressed with him now. He very quickly repudiated that he ever thought the Government was involved with 9/11 and the administration has to cover for him for being a self proclaimed communist. Hey guys, I was just funnin' ya, just stringin' ya along. No hard feelings, ok?
Second, advertisers who pulled their sponsorships from Glenn Beck must be kicking themselves because they came down on the side of a nut who accused the Government of being involved with 9/11 and who is a self proclaimed communist. Oh how much better it would have been and how much better they would have looked if they had stuck to their principles. Instead, the Jones hit the fan and they got splattered big time.
After determining the paper's contents I refused. I don't buy van Jones's story.
It's important to note that it wasn't initially a petition, as we normally think of it. It was a statement. Here's the language the truthers use on their own site about it: "In connection with this news, we have assembled 100 notable Americans and 40 family members of those who died to sign this 9/11 Statement
The petition eventually got hundreds of thousands of signatories. However, Jones was #46--among the initial assembled group. This was no oversight or carelessness in 'reviewing" a document. He was in on it from the start, as one of the instigators and organizers.
This was a totally reckless and inexcusable appointment. All the Republicans in the Senate and the House should have a joint press conference to express their dismay that a man who has such radical views should be appointed to any position in the United States government. I think September 8th would be a good day for such a conference.
Jones is simply a carbon copy of our Marxist magic negro.
Keel Haul the lot of these turds.
And he never said he was a commie I bet, too. And he isn’t black and he doesn’t wear expensive suits and he doesn’t wear glasses and he doesn’t really know Emperor obie. He’s just some guy who lived in the neighborhood.
When in trouble, lie. The MSM will say, “Oh, OK!”
There are a number of “reckless” appointments. Van Jones was just the easy target. He had enough “tape” out there in his own words to be called to account.
You can bet they are scrubbing things clean as we speak on all the other little czars.
Glenn begged his watchdogs to find it, download it, and save it.
That is a very profound observation my friend. Now maybe the other czars are going to get a well deserved microscopic examination by conservatives. Van Jones, et al, started it, by grabbing a tiger by the tail.
Your apologizing for something you really, deep down believe, Van Jones? lulz.
Your either trying to protect your 6-digit job or simply a liar, you tell us, kkthx.
That's a joke, right? Especially coming after the long list of other disassociations from past words and actions?
Then the *sshole is incompetent to be working in the White House. And when is someone in the legislative branch going to take a stand against the shadow government of the czars that Obama has appointed?
Countdown to Van Jones going under the bus...3,2,
Those kids are using up alot of the earths resources.
He will say any thing to make this go away. There are many Obama bodies under the bus.
He better hope his wife is not one of those “white poisoners.”
The wonderful thing about being a liberal is that you can reinvent yourself every morning when you wake up simply by issuing an apology and pointing out that whatever it was you did that was offensive occurred in the distant past (more than a week).
In other words: "I said what I meant, and I'm sorry if you didn't like it."
But according to this White House administration, voting for and signing a 1,000+ page piece of legislation without reading it and carefully reviewing it is OK hunky dory.
Idiots.
Glenn Beck and others need to keep up the pressure. If we can get to the point of the "White House Apology of the Day", then these folks will be way down on the list of public support.
Well, why not? Congressmen don’t read bills before voting for them. Obama doesn’t read them before signing them into law. Responsibility and accountability are soooo last century.
