Olympia Snowe, RINO who laughs in our face.
Financial Times ^ | 3rd Sep | Financial Times

Olympia Snowe, the "Republican" who voted with the Democrats on the stimulas is now in negotiations with the Whitehouse over a public option "trigger" in the healthcare bill.

It seems she is willing to vote with the Democrats again. When will the Republican party TOSS HER OUT?

I can't believe freepers give me schtick for admiring someone like Ron Paul and yet tolerate the REAL traitor Senator Snowe.

THROW HER OUT, MCCONNELL IS WEAK

Republicans in her state need to call and let her know she can start packing.

WE understand what is going on.

“Health care reform” is nothing other than socialized medicine, government-run medical care.

The “PUBLIC OPTION” is ALL this is about.

Any fool who thinks the Left is going to abandon the GOVERNMENT BEING THE CONTROLLING AGENT OF MEDICAL CARE IS EITHER STUPID OR A LIAR.

It should read....

When will the voters of Maine vote her out!

I'm not aware of many or really any postings defending Snowe. I think she is despised quite universally on FR. I may be wrong because I don't follow every thread. But I never got the impression that she's been tolerated here.

I am with you. I don’t mind independent thinking and voting Republicans, but I would like for them to vote most of the time in a conservative, pro-American way.

but how can she get away with going against her colleagues time and time again, without rebuke? If McConnell had any sense he would discipline her

Another RINO that needs to come out of the closet and profess her undying affection for the Socialist Democrat party.

Right now, it seems to me that the best promise a congressional candidate could make is: “I promise to vote ‘No’ to everything. I promise to not introduce or co-sponsor any new legislation. I promise to delay everything and anything. I simply promise to not screw with the day to day lives of Americans”

When it comes to the "Public Option" I often ask my Progressive (communist) fellow New Yorkers this question:

You're standing on the corner of First Avenue and East 30th Street when you start experiencing severe chest pains. You can be taken to NYU Medical Center or Bellevue (i.e. the public option). Which do you choose?

This question is always followed by silence.

She’s good for 1 thing . . .

When they count seats for control of the Senate, they count her as an “R”. Losing her seat to a “D” pushes the goal posts that much farther back in the quest for a Republican Congress.

Just think, the Senate count is now 60 dem -40 rep; if we oust Snowe and lose the seat it becomes 61 - 39. Even if she votes like a Dem, she at least lines up on the side of the Rep.

If there were a real conservative that could beat her - great, but it seems unlikely that unseating her will do anything but make it harder to regain the majority.

Its MAINE. The alternative to Snowe is a Democrat.
Not that that would make any real difference.

The people must go door to door and expose the RAT and Snowe. Find a candidate to run against Snowe and then expose the RAT.

well, at least Arlen Specter had the good grace to put the D next to his name and the Republicans should have a more conservative opponent to him next time who could unseat him

it really isnt an issue Democrats having over 60 seats because there are internal splits anyway not to mention Reids faltering poll numbers. getting them to do agree on anything is not easy

I signed on to Myfax just so I could send Snowe (and Collins and Pingree) a daily fax. I’m sure it’s not doing a lot of good but it makes me feel better. Plus they have to change toner a bit more often. (Snowe’s fax is frequently busy so the usage must be high.)

You don’t get it. She’s from Maine. Maine went for Obama 54.4-38.8; 6.8% apparently voted third party - they probably didn’t think that Obama was liberal ENOUGH. These people LIKE Liberals and Commies. The only reasons Snowe continues to hold the office is inertia and her own liberalism.

I will agee that she is a symptom of the problem right now. But I don’t know that Maine could give us a reliable conservative. The real problem is that the R’s can’t get their stuff together to get out of this situation: 2 Dem Sens. in ND, MT, VA and AR, and 1 in AK and SD.

Unfortunaltely probably the best that can be done in the near term is to beat on Snowe so that she becomes a bit more accountable. With the rising sentiment against Obama and the lib programs that may be possible.

For alternatives, all you have to do is look at the reps from Maine. Pingree (moonbat) is mine.

All that has to happen is that a bunch of the good guys get hold of the same “stuff” that is used to control her as a Senator...

Yes, I do get it. The American people, overall, are rejecting these Liberal slimes even many RATs all over the country. Look at the Tea Party YouTubes. DemoRATs are outraged too. It’s bow down to Fascism or vote these people out. Expose their dirty deeds and their arrogant, in-your-face Elitism. Some Liberals are waking up. I wouldn’t give up the fight before it even starts.

“it really isnt an issue Democrats having over 60 seats”

No ?

The issue is that they have over 50 and they control the agenda. When Republicans have over 50 they control the agenda, committee chairs, etc.

It would be great if there was a conservative that could challenge Snowe in Maine - but there’s not.

There used to be a Rino Republican in Connecticut (Weicker), the “conservatives” organized against him and “voila” 24 years of Joe Lieberman. Dems would love for Snowe to lose, virtually guaranteeing an added Dem seat in the Senate.

I’d like to know what motivates sh_tbirds like Snowe and Collins to join a political party and then work 24/7 to undermine that party.

I cannot remember one time when they haven’t stabbed us in the back.

Term limits, folks. We need to get serious about this.

Entrenched politicians on either side (if there are sides) of the aisle are a menace to the will of people.

“was it Senator DeMint who said i’d rather have 30 something principled conservatives than have a majority”

Yes, but he’s presenting a false mutual exclusivity.

The point is you can have both.

Sure, I’d rather have 30 conservatives than 51 Rino’s . . .

-but-

I’d much rather have 48 conservatives, 3 Rinos AND the Majority. DeMint and others can enjoy their principled minority status and watch Activist Judges, Cap and Trade, etc steam roll through congress.
