Host Tucker Carlson, asked experts, teachers, publishers and parents the same question: "Do you know what is inside your children's textbooks?" From kindergarten through college, we found staggering errors and omissions which may be pushing agendas, hidden and otherwise.
We spoke to the author of "The Language Police," education historian Diane Ravitch, who said textbook publishers censor images or words they deem to be controversial in children’s textbooks. She told us that publishers pander to special interest groups, and assemble bias and sensitivity review committees. These committees decide what words to ban or redefine, and even what images are deemed offensive.
And we examined some college textbooks both in print and in digital forms. We found a glaring mistake in an expensive history book written by Alan Brinkley, Provost at New York’s Columbia University.
And in Fairfax County Virginia, questions remain about what textbooks are used in the private Islamic Saudi Academy. The ISA teaches about 1000 students each year pre-K — 12. Questions have been raised about its textbooks at least since 2006.
This summer, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, ISA’s 1999 valedictorian, was sentenced to life in prison for his role in a 2002 Al Qaeda plot to assassinate President George W. Bush.
The ISA is wholly owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and teaches students from textbooks, which according to a report by a Saudi scholar interviewed by FOX News, continues to “propagate an ideology of hate to the unbeliever...

We tracked down two American college professors who were paid by the ISA to review these textbooks. They signed a letter obtained by FOX News that the ISA's 2008-2009 textbooks' do not contain inflammatory material…” One of them sat down for an interview; the other refused.

Now the "documentary division" in Washington has this pipsqueak Tucker Carlson steal my segment, and, I assume, will use a lot of my research, but I wasn't interviewed for this. I just think it's not kosher at all.
I didn’t watch this show because I am not a big fan of Tucker Carlson. Did Tucker do a good job on the production? He seems to be always giggling when he talks.
As an entrepreneur, I see a huge market opportunity for affordable America Friendly private eduation in every town in America.

But the show left me scratching my head and saying
“What took FOX so long?”
Heck, when I was in Los Angeles during 1995-2005, there was all sort
of commentary on shows hosted by Dennis Prager, Michael Medved,
even the Duffy show on 99.5FM, the major Christian-talk station.
Nice to see Tucker did have Diane Ravitch on to give some commentary.
She’s been fighting the good fight for decades.

It’s about damn time. I don’t trust government schools to teach any subject well, not math, not science, and certainly not “social studies.” The textbooks are highly suspect, but how many parents read them?
Yeah, I kinda got blindsided. The people in NY-—the “Fox and Friends” crew, had nothing to do with this. I suspect old Tucker was given this assignment by someone higher up cause he had nothing to do.
Go to a homeschool convention some time. You’ll see it in action. These are big. The SE Homeschool I spoke at was about 7,000.
This was a damn good documentary. I think it aired 10PM ET last night. I didn’t see the whole thing, but caught the first 25-30 minutes.
Most of the first REALLY BAD, i.e., “diversity first,” massively indoctrinating textbooks were published the year I graduated from high school (1993).
It’s amazing how far we’ve fallen in just 15 years.
Tucker Carlson is the host, which kind of threw me for a loop. I thought he was with CNN or MSNBC.
Anyway, he did an excellent job of confronting a professor (Columbia U?) on the street who co-authored a textbook which claimed that up until mid-2002 (the year/time the textbook in question was published) only ONE PERSON had been charged with terrorism related to the 9/11 attacks.
In actuality, Carlson said the REAL number of people charged - at that time - was over 100.
So now a revised edition of the book is coming out later in the year, and all the author would say is basically “buy the new version and see if you agree with our revisions.”
Oh, and the new version is not $60 (as the first printing was), but closer to $75.

I watched and had expected to see you.
It’s a poorly produced and haphazard selection of “facts.” A total dump of b-roll footage under the headline of investigative journalism.
There’s a bit where kids weigh their backpacks for no apparent reason and then it immediately veers to “scary Saudi Muslim school in the United States” before admitting that offending no one helps the companies involved sell more books.
More an ills of mass marketing piece than an educational bias expose.
Watched it last night and I want my hour back.
I think the ratings they're getting is a big factor. Barely any paying clientel tunes into the other networks now as they won't touch the truth.
FOX is the only voice out there that covers the nightmare this administration is for America.

I only watched it to catch the part about Gregory Starrett. I'd saw that section earlier in passing and was very offended by his words.
Doesn't matter how well or poorly produced, facts are facts and it gets them out there.
It also shows the proof of how the textbooks are changed.
Most state education boards choose textbooks for their state instead of letting local or regional school boards do the choosing. Perhaps, that needs to change.
