There is no more mystery about Van Jones. He was a passionate defender of cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, a self-satisfied and described "Communist," a supporter of the destruction of the Jewish state, and a promoter of the theory that the Katrina tragedy was a white racist plot, and so forth. That's okay with Democratic chairman Howard Dean, and Obama's Environmental Quality Council head Nancy Sutley. (See Ron Radosh's current blog for chapter and verse.) This should surprise no one. The recent heads of the black caucus in the House -- part of the 120 member "progressive caucus" -- have all been Castro-loving racists -- Maxine Waters and Barbara Lee to name two off the top of my head. Diane Watson is probably next. The Democratic Party today is a "popular front" organization (to pluck an appropriate term from the 1930s when liberals and Stalinists lined up together as well). There are no scoundrels, America haters, racists -- that Democrats won't assimlate. One of the more obnoxious racists and crooks in public life -- Charlie Rangel -- is still chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee because Nancy Pelosi can't remove him so strong is his support in her party.

This is not news to me. The democrats have always been comfortable with communists, racists and anti-semites.
The Democrats are comfortable with communists, racists and anti-semites? Heck, they elected one to the office of POTUS!
Fixed.
Ping—Horowitz says the same thing we were saying on the other thread!
Ya think.
(That ain't name calling. The Sixties Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble really have taken over the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party. Under the hail of "neo-con" taunts many Democrats fled the Party.)
This is why I not only refuse to ever vote for a 'Rat again, but I won't even associate with them.
“This is not news to me. The democrats have always been comfortable with communists, racists and anti-semites.”
The double standard drives me crazy. I have to unplug at times or it really makes me angry in an unhealthy way.
Macawca, (or however that’s spelled), - a Republican racist who should be shunned from society.
White polluters, and 9/11 “truther” - a Democrat who was targeted by the GOP. The Dems see this as a hit job, and think Van Jones was unfairly singled out.
The Bush administation was closed and doing too much without public knowledge.
Obama is more secretive than Bush ever was, and has instituted a shadow government of 48 czars, but that’s dismissed as Obama trying to make things happen.
Grrrrrr.
I am much more interested in his conclusion and a solution:
“Let me just single out one problem, because it’s the one conservatives can actually affect. And that is to start calling things by their right names. The timidity and cowardice of Republicans towards Democratic Party ourtages of this nature is a principal culprit. When you call Communists ‘liberals’ it legitimizes them. The time has come to stop it. To stop the charade, stick your head out the window and say ‘I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.’”
This is exactly correct. I’ve railed about using the term “Main Stream” to refer to the communications arm of the Democratic party precisely because it legitimizes them. Earlier today I read a post where someone referred to the “Institutional Press”. When we, in the “blogosphere”, begin to correct the notion that the “press” represents anything other than the Democratic Party, others will have to follow suit. IMHO
“The Democrats are comfortable with communists, racists and anti-semites?”
They’re more than comfortable - I’d say about half of them ARE communists, racists and anti-semites and a good portion of those are also anti-human.
The marxist-feminist-green-”race-baiter” wing of that party has taken it over. The rest are guilt-ridden whites, people on the dole, and mindless do-gooders.
"I ain't no communist!"
The branding here lacks ‘comfortable with terrorists.’
Not true. Before the late sixties, people like Jones wouldn't have had a chance. He probably wouldn't have had a chance during Clinton's admin. Remember George McGovern, a man who was a fighter pilot during WWII, was destroyed by Nixon in 1972. His politics were about the same as Obama's. Obama couldn't have gotten elected in 1972 either. Even if he were one hundred percent white. There's just too many leftists now in the Dem Party. They were a fringe before. Now they're the mainstream.
It might be more accurate to say “the democrats have always been communists, racists and anti-semites.”
I don't see the GOP growing balls like that. Beck has them, and bet the rent the left will be after Beck forever.
But they will roll them under bus, along with Grandma and the Rev. Wright, once they are outed. I vote for Mark Lloyd to be next in line.
And yet, if GWB was conducting himself exactly the same way zero is, the media and demwits would be having a knipshin.
