“Today you can arrange that protest yourself, photograph it with a hand-held cell phone, and if you can then generate enough views of that video on YouTube, you can make something into national news.”

Yeah, and you can also come up with a push poll and report the results as news in an effort to sway public opinion, too ABC.

Reporter Dan Harris asserted “the conservative echo chamber is not new...

Liberals are the people in an echo chamber - they have all the networks, all newspapers but one, CNN, PBS, NPR, etc. etc. and we have 4 people on radio and FOX ( half the time)...

I’m not defending the MSM but any time someone tried to look into the chosen ones past, he would scream racist like he does now.

The MSM must be passing notes in class - this is the second time in a few days I’ve heard the “echo chamber” talking point!

Interesting argument.
It appears their hopes were so high for his success that they looked the other way.

It was clear he was a wacko at that Berlin speech last summer. They got so carried away even The Times of London parodied the messiah cult they built up around him. Only the Kool-Aid drinkers are still falling for this.

Tom Brokaw was lamenting the internet the other day, and now ABC. I love it when these crybabies whine over their inability to monopolize the news anymore. You blew it, idiots. These people and their lack of ethics, integrity, and truth in reporting created the demand for the niche that conservatives were more than happy to fill, now they cry like babies because no one with a brain trusts them to deliver the news anymore. Waaaaah. Keep whining, idiots. The only people who care are brainless, leftist twits. Enjoy your dwindling influence. I know I am.

They do a “group-think” thing - it must have been printed in the New York Times. That said, the “echo chamber” comment was used here at FreeRepublic months ago - in reference to liberals. The stole it from us...

Tough sh%&#. They undermined President Bush during the early crucial stages of the War on Terror every step of the way. The MSM can all go to hell.

Reporter Dan Harris asserted “the conservative echo chamber is not new, but,” he fretted, “this White House is operating in a vastly accelerated media environment where you no longer need to be in the presence of reporters to make news, as we saw with the health care furor at those town hall meetings.” Journalistic veteran Tom Rosenstiel marveled: “Today you can arrange that protest yourself, photograph it with a hand-held cell phone, and if you can then generate enough views of that video on YouTube, you can make something into national news.”

Part of the frustration I have is that, on the Republican side, there are wonderful people whose voices, I think, are tamped down, and, you know, the traditional leaders, the Bob Doles of the world, those voices have been, I think, shouted down on that side, and I hope that the Republican Party can rediscover that voice.

Screw you we like the new voice

The next day, a conservative Web site [Ron Paul's Daily Paul] criticizes the speech without even knowing what the President will say exactly.

Because the outrage had little to do with content.

The outrage was the idea that the president specifically scheduled his speech for a time when the parents of school age children could not perform their role as media gatekeepers.

He does not have the right to speak to my children without my permission. I don't care if he wants to read the bible to them.

I'll give you three guesses who he's referring to here, but I know you'll only need one.

Echo chamber?

May I suggest the so called journalists at ABC read through a thread or two here on FR and see the level of discussion and dissent that goes on within the conservative community. It is hardly an echo chamber. What should and probably does frighten them is the level of agreement within the conservative community on this topic. They know that when conservatives are well agreed and working together, even loosely, that the liberals lose almost every time.

The old guard DNC ruled media is scorning the new media for providing direct access to the masses.

The same as global socialists salivate at the notion of the US surrendering to Socialism. We’ve always been the last best hope for the world.

“And I would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.”

Georgie Porgie also pushed Hillarycare. He’s got a personal bias.
