Obama to Chair UN Security Council

Role could have prez crossing paths with Gaddafi Updated 6:45 AM CDT, Wed, Sep 9, 2009

Barack Obama is set to become the first-ever U.S. president to chair the United Nations' 15-member Security Council when it meets later this month.

The council, which next meets Sept. 24, deals with a host of global challenges, including nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament. The Obama administration hopes to use the month-long appointment to emphasise a departure from the Bush administration's strategy of pursuing its own unilateral policies through the council.

Obama will join other heads of government in New York during the week of the nuclear summit for the opening of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. Climate change and the Middle East peace process will be on the agenda for the wider body. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, under fire for wining the freedom of a terrorist convicted of killing 270 in the Lockerbie bombing, is due to be on hand and could turn the session into a spectacle.

The State Department has not ruled out the possibility that Obama and Gaddafi would cross paths. They are both due to address the General Assembly on the same day, and the Libyan leader, whose country is a temporary member of the Security Council, is entitled to attend the nuclear summit session that Mr Obama will chair.

I’ll take Qadaffi for $100

US to sign UN gay rights declaration

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned.

“Maybe he is the Antichrist...”

The UN wants a new global currency. Is this a sign of the Antichrist?

By Damian Thompson Religion Last updated: September 8th, 2009

If I was a fundamentalist Christian (which I’m not) I’d be asking myself: is it just me, or are we living in a time of unusual prophetic fulfilment?

1. The US has elected a President before whom all nations bow down (or at least they do according to his grovelling sycophants in the American media and the BBC). A man of great oratorial skills yet possessing a smoothly anonymous personality…

2. Technology now allows the state to monitor every inch of our neighbourhoods AND our bodies, without us even being aware of the fact…

3. The United Nations wants a new global currency to replace the dollar, as the Telegraph reports today.

This, surely, is the clincher. I mean, how many Signs of the Times do you need before you decide it’s time to take a fresh look at the last few pages of the Bible?

Since his past is hidden and he arose to power out of nowhere, I can't exactly rule that out. IMO, the AC is alive now and walking the earth somewhere, so why not him? He seems to have the world mesmerized for having never accomplished anything.

While Obama chairing the UN Security Council might stoke his monumental ego, it will not play well at home were the UN is a best suspect and at worst reviled. Doesn’t Obama have enough on his plate with the US economy in the crapper that he can now take over duties at the UN too? I would think that this move would even cause many Democrats to flinch as it gives Republicans another hot button campaign issue.

I assume you refer to Clause 8 of Article 9?

Clause 8: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

This is huge news—bigger than Cass Sunstein and bigger than health care or obamba’s speech.

Very little coverage!!! Is it even legal????

I don’t know if it’s legal. Presumably. However, would that matter? No one seems to be covering it. I’m wondering if it’ll be in Beck’s program because this news seems to dwarf anything related to Czars or healthcare by a long shot.

Interestingly, Richardson might have had a “natural born citizen” issue, too, had he succeeded in his quest for the presidency:

Bill Richardson was born in Pasadena, California.[5][6] His father, William Blaine Richardson Jr. (died in 1972), was an American Citibank executive[5][6] who grew up in Boston, Massachusetts[5] and lived and worked in Mexico City.[6] His mother, María Luisa López-Collada Márquez[6] is the Mexican daughter of a Spanish father from Villaviciosa, Asturias, Spain and a Mexican mother[7][5][8][9] and was his father’s secretary[6].[8] Richardson’s father was born in Nicaragua.[6] Just before Richardson was born, his father sent his mother to California to give birth because, as Richardson explained, “My father had a complex about not having been born in the United States.”[6] Richardson, a U.S. citizen by birthright, was raised during his childhood in Mexico City.[6][8] At age 13, Richardson’s parents sent him to Massachusetts to attend a preparatory school, Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, where he played baseball as a pitcher.[6]

"The Antichrist will not need a teleprompter."

I used to think that too, but until the antichrist is indwelt by satan, he might not be much more than a mere mortal, as is anyone else. He will probably not need a teleprompter after satan possesses him. Before? Not so sure. The antichrist is not described as supernatural until the 2nd half of his reign. The first half, he's just a human being who seduces the masses with sugary words and ideas. JMO.
