I'm not kidding. As you may have heard, Fox News star Glenn Beck has been ranting about the "communist" and "fascist" art woven into the designs of Rockefeller Center. You don't need me to point you to the video of Beck's jaw-dropping madness, or to Keith Olbermann's hilarious dissection of Beck's claims. They're everywhere.
Suffice to say when you watch Beck's presentation, it plays like a pitch-perfect parody of the kind of fringe-lunatic conspiracy theorist who gets lampooned on Penn & Teller's "Bull----!" show. You're thinking: There's no way in the world this guy can be serious.
But he is. There was a time when guys like Beck would be confined to street corners, where they'd filibuster into cheap megaphones as the citizenry rushed past, avoiding eye contact.
The scariest thing about Beck is hundreds of thousands if not millions of people buy into this guy's madness. He's a multimedia force: TV, radio, Web site, books, DVD, you name it. According to Beck's site, there's even something called "Glenn Beck's Common Sense Comedy Tour," and that right there is pretty friggin' funny.
Having written three books and dozens of columns about urban legends and conspiracy theories, I know full well there are a lot of people out there who believe in fairy tales and unsubstantiated rumors and insanely complicated secret plots.
But I've rarely seen somebody as wacky as Beck making such a splash in the mainstream. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.
Then again, we're living in an era in which a number of people were seriously outraged over the prospect of the president of the United States giving a speech to be broadcast in schools. The president urged students to set their own goals, to commit to those goals and to work hard.
What a radical.

Beck just brought down one of The Messiah's Czars...Olbermann makes fun of Beck in the hopes the last few Leftist kooks in his audience won't finally abandon him.

IMO Beck has done an incredible job of exposing the Obama administration for its communist plans but he needs to stick with the most basic evidence...and old fascistic sculpture by way of the Rockefellers is a bit of a stretch.
Glenn’s doing some excellent work but I think that he ought to consider dropping the “sick freak” schtick at this point.
There is one thing you have to give liberals credit for and that is a higher level of blind stupidity.

I found it humorous how he used Glenn as someone who could be brought down by Penn and Tiller. Guess he doesn’t watch Beck often enough to know that Penn Jillette has been a guest several times on Glenn’s show to discuss libertarianism.

We need to start limiting all U.S. politicians to two terms, like they do in Illinois: One in office, and one in prison.
Truth squad: back in the 1930s, Nelson Rockefeller brought famed Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, who was a communist, to New York to paint a mural in Rockefeller Center (then the RCA Building). Rivera’s mural was entitled “Man at the Crossroads,” and it included a scene of a May Day (yes, the same May Day demonstration celebrated in then-Soviet Russia). Among the crowd of faces was Lenin. Rockefeller objected to Lenin’s portrait in this mural, believing it would be offensive to many people. Rivera offered to add a portrait of Lincoln, but Rockefeller insisted that Lenin be removed. Rivera was ordered to stop painting and the mural was destroyed. Rivera returned to Mexico and painted a huge mural, Man, Controller of the Universe, in the Palacio de Belles Artes in Mexico City that includes portraits of Leinin and Trotsky.
Glenn has done his homework on these people and given us INFORMATION not just OPINION! THAT is what is missing in some other conservatives.

If Sarah Palin is so stupid, why are the ultralibs so afraid of her?
If Glenn Beck is so crazy, why are the ultralibs so afraid of him?
If the people at the Town Halls are so uninformed, why are the ultralibs so afraid of them? Why do they have to send thugs and goons to crowd them out, take away their homemade signs, beat them up, and intimidate their families?
If these people are so stupid, crazy, and uninformed, simply put them on YouTube, and expose them to ridicule.
But as we all know, THAT DOESN’T WORK because all these “stupid, crazy, uninformed” people are RIGHT about the totalitarian obamaites’ evil policies!!!!
