But today, the White House indicated that as a gesture of bipartisanship, President Obama would discuss malpractice reform.

“The president is going to talk about the downside of what many doctors have told him is the practicing of defensive medicine, where doctors because they are worried about this order more and more tests in order to make sure that they don't get sued,” Gibbs said on CNN. “That costs our system billions and billions of dollars every year.”

Zero chance they lift a finger. The only group the Dems are more beholden to are the teacher unions.

I find it hard to believe he is going to throw the trial lawyers under the bus. I don’t care what he says. Nor do I believe the Democratic Congress will go along with throwing the trial lawyers under the bus.

If he wants to do a medical malpractice reform, fine. But leave the rest of it out.

NO COMPROMISE. NO OBAMACARE. NONE.

I'll give him credit for bringing up an issue the Dems have seemingly tried to sweep under the carpet, but I'm with you - I'll believe it when I see it.

“Zero chance they lift a finger.”

The gesture will be the ‘lifting’ of the middle finger.

Obama’s med malpractice reform....Refuse to pay for ‘extra “ tests, but keep tort lawyers in place. HA.

Who cares ..he can put in a “trigger’, or say whatever, and then they will sneak in stuff and vote in the middle of the night.

Zero can afford to look like a big man on health care tort reform. Remember, he's got Cass Sunstein waiting in the wings. The trial lawyers will never have it so good.

As I said, I'll believe it when I see it.

And if the Dems really want to sell this, why don't they offer to give up their current health care plans and rely solely on whatever plan they pass? I think we know why.

God this has become an ignorant debate. Imagine how bad things will be when the government rations care so then you can’t sue anybody for denying you good care? The doctor will note that you need a test or treatment but you won’t get it and there is no one accountable. The malpractice will be by the government beurocrats.

Tort reform and government run health care combined are not a good thing. Obama is saying we should have a system in which malpractice is the norm and doctors will stop running all those pesky tests.

Yes, that entire scenario is scary. Lawyers for trees and animals, indeed. Seriously, he has written that people should not be able to harm rats in removing them from their houses. Hello Bubonic Plague. Thanks BO. They were talking about that nutcake being nominated to the Supreme Court. I am praying like crazy for the continued health of Ginsberg, because he makes her look reasonable. I can’t believe what this cretin is doing to our country. Pendulum swings.

The man is clearly delusional thinking such tactics will work. He is a very weak leader who reads a teleprompter very well. This is sad but true. One unfortunate fact is that most reporters are too dumb or too partisan to see through the facade.

Whoopee. This will save less than one half of one percent of overall health care cost.

Here’s the link for anyone who is interested in how much TORTS DONT’T COST.

There is also an interesting link to an article by Dr. Gawande within the article. You should read this to get the real scoop on “defensive medicine.” Listen to the greedy doctors howl if you try to cut back on the unnecessary tests and procedures.

parsy, who says “tort reform” is a GOP straw man; heck it ain’t even a straw MAN, it’s more like a straw teeny tiny little toy soldier, maybe a straw hamster.
