I loved it. I can't stop watching it. Was it bad "decorum"? Sure, and he apologized for that, and that's fine. But let's be honest, it all depends whose ox is getting gored. Back in the days leading up to the Civil War, it was quite rancorous in the House and Senate. If you agree with the person being rancorous, you applaud it. If you disagree, you feign shock and disgust. It's politics. In reality, pretty much everyone is a hypocrite when it comes to these things.

And besides, Obama's teleprompter called Republicans liars in his speech, shortly before this transpired. (They cut that out of this version of the video. Obama said "It's a lie plain and simple". He called them liars. He got called a liar. Yeah, it's schoolyard stuff, but so what? Let's not let decorum get in the way of real, bare-knuckled debate.

His outburst was disrespectful, but wasn't too different from what I have heard in recordings of the English Parliament. He needed a slight talking to, but not a punishment. He spoke from the heart and I can't blame him for that.

Civility is not partisan until it is a one way street. Until Bush 43 I never heard an elected member of Congress on mic, call a President a liar. A lot of words meaning that were used, but not the word Liar. Teddy Kennedy from the floor of the Senate, during Abu Graib called Bush a liar and it escalated with time.
At no time did I hear anyone call for condemnation for the use of the word from the media. Now an illtimed outburst of emotion is condemned and the media pounces. No wonder I’ve become uncivil.

NPR references a piece at the infamous and disreputable www.politifact.com (see: http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/sep/09/joe-wilson/joe-wilson-south-carolina-said-obama-lied-he-didnt/ ).

It's possible that Politifact is correct sometimes but I doubt it. In this they are simply disingenuous. The fact is the Obamabill (HR 3200) does not amend, supercede, or rescind current law regarding providing care to illegal aliens at public hospitals.

Ergo, by omission Obamacare provides medical care to illegal aliens.
