There is the dread of leaving the house that morning. People might stare, or worse, yell insults.
Prayers are more intense, visits with family longer. Mosques become a refuge.
Eight years after 9/11, many U.S. Muslims still struggle through the anniversary of the attacks. Yes, the sting has lessened. For the younger generation of Muslims, the tragedy can even seem like a distant memory. "Time marches on," said Souha Azmeh Al-Samkari, a 22-year-old student at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Yet, many American Muslims say Sept. 11 will never be routine, no matter how many anniversaries have passed.

Everything I need to know about Islam, I learned on 9/11.
How sick is this ? This article makes it sound like they were the ones attacked.
Oh stop. Really.
In reading that one would think Muslims were terribly wronged on 9/11. What sick spin.
Choosing to be the "other" in a well-armed and literate country isn't a great long-term survival strategy.
Shrug, quit rooting for the bad guys.
Islam IS evil, but will ultimately be defeated.

On Tuesday, 11SEP2001, I didn't particularly feel that I had a refuge anywhere.
How soon we forget.
Tell them to leave their murderous cult and they will not have to fear any backlash.
All the leftist media trying to turn the aggressors into the victims will take down this country if they do not stop.
This is beyond sick.
What about the families who had people die that day?
How hard is it for THEM to face yet another anniversary?
Where’s the concern for THEM in the Muslim community?
Tough call... NOT!
Oh, how awful.
For Americans minding their own business, there is the dread of leaving the house each morning. Muslims might moan, complain, or riot about yet another perceived slight. Or worse, they'll just blow up dance clubs, pizza parlors and behead people while ululating, "Allah Akbar!"
I’ll be nowhere near any muslims or tall buildings tomorrow....
Forget? Our leaders didn’t get it on day one IMO.
The insult to the families of having the Muslim Clerics play a dominant role in the memorial services made me furious as soon as I noticed it.
Imagine political leaders making KKK members an integral part of the funeral services for a lynched Black person.
Bush and company as well as all the rest of the morons in W., D.C. facilitated this. So did Giuliani.
Heard on the radio the Biden will be at ground zero.
Dear friend,
Worrying about a perceived problem not based in reality (in most cases) is
a waste of time and energy.
If you are a muslim and wonder how to observe September 11, 2001; think about taking time to talk to your family, friends and fellow mosque members about NOT joining the global jihad, about NOT joining radical islam, about REPORTING those who might harm you or your fellow Americans. You can
do it.
Apparently human sacrifice in the name of a religion is fine to the media/left. Making them feel bad for belonging to a cult which does it daily though, watch out.
I'm guessing the Star Trib publishes this same article every year, only changing what anniversary it will be.
I’d be more worried for the Sikhs, Arab Christians, Hindus and others who get mistaken for the followers of the paedo-false-prophet, and then get murdered as a result.
The religion of filth.
The other sick thing is the Islamic “crescent moon”-shaped memorial in Pennsylvania, to commemmorate the Hero Flight.
You think it can’t get any worse, and then it does.
Hiding? I don’t think so! Just in time for 9-11, I rec’d this email from my sis in the SF east bay area today:
“There is a massive..I mean massive billboard right off the main freeway down here 680.. (Just after Sun Valley Mall) that says:
(very large) ISLAM
Then it listed the phone number to learn about Islam and how to convert.... The word covered the entire billboard...Dang......sent a chill to my bones!”
Just...damn!
But deep in my inner psyche, I kind of wished there would have been a backlash after 9/11.
Sorry, just being honest (see you in Confession)
Cry baby antiques will get them nowhere with me. I’ve had it with the “victim” con job.
Meanwhile...8 years later 290,000,000 Americans still fear another 9/11 attack by Muslims.
I am rereading Price of Honor: Muslim Women Lift the Veil of Silence on the Islamic World
This was published after 9/11 but before Gulf War II. Scary, but still relevant even though it is an older book.
8 years and no backlash? Sounds like nothing to complain about.
Have the muzzies been cowering and hiding in fear or actively attacking every institution and intimidating the mainstream of society?
Where is that tiny violin picture?
And why don’t they go live in one of the many Muslim paradises scattered across the globe? Oh, that’s right....they are all war zones for some reason.
AMEN!
Perhaps, if the majority of the Muslims denounced VOCIFEROUSLY and very PUBLICLY, fellow ISLAMOFASCIST terrorist, (AND WILLINGLY ASSIMILATED AS AMERICANS WITHOUT TRYING TO FOIST THEIR 7th C. RELIGIOUS CONVICTIONS ON US INFIDELS) they just might find a populace willing to embrace them and welcome them with open arms (like we have every other immigrant in the past)and not treat them with a jaundiced eye and skepticism as many try to impose their Sahria-tenets on us and their leadership (such as CAIR) are apologists and mouth-pieces for every bad acting Islamist in the US and the world.
Interesting read, in case anyone here missed it. There was a thread on this yesterday, I believe.....

"On this occasion, we celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and we also celebrate how much Muslims have enriched America and its culture in ways both large and small." Barack Hussein Obama.

Let us NEVER forget those nearly 3,000 innocent Americans who were murdered by the Islamists.
Dont let Obama desecrate the memory of those Americans who were murdered by his fellow Muslims. Send this video to everyone you know.
Every American should view this video made by a New Yorker who lived through the attack:
http://attacked911.tripod.com/
This video has been viewed by untold millions and is now in the Smithsonian.
(Sadly, the New Yorker who made this video has since succumbed to lung damage sustained during the attack)
The video includes the planes crashing into the buildings and victims jumping. There are pictures of many of those who lost their lives, and president Bushs aftermath speech set to the haunting background music, Only Time by Enya. It is truly awesome.

We have one of those in Abuquerque as well. The first time I saw, I almost ran off the road.

Good. Let them know fear. They didn’t step up and condemn the actions of the terrorists. Remember how they celebrated?
Hey Rachel....
there is a scare everytime anyone gets on a plane....or visits an embassy, of football game....
Am I surprised?
No.
I sure hope that the lives of muslims in my country will never enjoy a normal day. They were all complicit by acquiescence.
The one thing I hope the cultural killers don't decide to do is once again take to the streets to celebrate the murder of 3000 Americans.
Me I will drag out the videotapes of the event and remind myself that the world will never again be the place is was until islam is again handed a decisive and permanent defeat, like the one that kept them quiet for 150 years before 911.
Where I work, they rolled out the big-screen TV’s in the cafeteria on 9/11 so that all of the employees could have access to the news.
I walked down to watch because internet streaming was darn near impossible.
I’m sitting there with about 350 other employees, CNN had just replayed the second tower hit for about the 97th time and out of the corner of my eye, slightly behind me and to my left.......I see these two yahoos leap to their feet and they are cheering and clapping wildly....
Turns out that they were temp contract employees. There was no backlash against these clowns. They weren’t allowed to leave the cafeteria, however, thanks to a couple of outstanding members of the local pipefitter’s union....;-)
HR was summoned and they were escorted out the door after their agency was notified to come pick them up. They weren’t let go because they were muslims. My company told the agency that they could not guarantee their safety if they remained in the building.
The fearful, appeasing Liberals care about their future executioners’ feelings.
Yep. See my post #42...
I don't know how much they have learned to this day. They are not trying to assimilate into Western culture, always have their women wrapped up in rags in the local malls, not learning english, not trying to fit in.
Or, go to work.....
As well they should.
In a related flashback, I’ll never forget the look of terror on my Iraqi interpreter’s face when my Platoon finished watching “United 93.”
I am sure the sting hasn’t lessened for the families and friends of the 3000 people murdered on September 11, 2001.
