Google does not commemorate Easter, Memorial Day, 9/11, Christmas... I’m sensing a pattern.
What a travesty.
Isn’t there something we can do to put them out of business?
I mean of all days they leave their logo unadorned.
I am so upset to hear/see this.
Seriously!!
I
That is a nice pict on Bing. What’s also kind of cool with Bing is if you mouse-over the picture, you get various info popups about the picture content.
What kind of ideas did you have in mind? Maybe turning the double O in Google into twin towers with an airplane zeroing in on them? It is difficult for me to imagine any kind of logo art to commemorate this day that would have reflected the appropriate solemnity for such a recognition.
They are a bunch of empty people inside. Just think of the kind of lives they lead. No backbone, no faith, empty.
This isn’t the first year people have complained about this.

That is cool. Just changed my home page from Yahoo to Bing

How about just using all black letters?
How about the flag?
That is pretty nice too.
If you have firefox, you can even remove Google from your search options. (Click the dropdown next to the search box > Manage Search Engines > Click Google > Click Remove)
Michael Jackson
Malaysia Independence Day
Philippines Independence Day
Girl's Day in Germany
Earth Day
Rosh Hashana
No, but I noticed that they also didn’t remember Feb 15th.
Look at ask.com and bing today for examples.
I would prefer that Google not touch 9/11. Googles’ commemorative cartoons are too cute and fluffy and mark insignificant or lighthearted occurrences. I doubt that it could acknowledge 9/11 in a properly somber way. I don’t want 9/11 to be commemorated alongside Michael Jackson’s birthday and Groundhog Day.
Looking around, Dogpile.com also has a tribute.

Answers.com doesn’t
Brainboost.com doesn’t
Not just 9-11
Look at Google Christmas, Easter...
