Thanks for all the follow up. Google can do anything they want I guess. That’s why it’s STILL America.
We would really have to come up with something better than them, and to be honest, they are some of the smartest CompSci nerds in the US. Given that that would be nearly impossible, I would just start telling people about how evil google really is, post about it, publish about it: keep the pressure on.
I was just being facetious.
Seriously.
Beautiful ‘cept for the Goog_e part:) I sent an email to Google Press with my observation...a complaint would be useless.
They are probebly enjoying this day....It’s so obvious that they are haters of this country....
I was serious. Google has become a willing participant in State Propaganda, both here in the US and China (now the largest Internet community). They need to be reminded that this was not their original ideal. Or maybe it was.
I am not surprised that they have no special banner.
Google marches to its own tune - with approval of government(s). Any claims to be content neutral is about the same as that of Wikipedia.
The contents of what they trawl and later keep are subject to deletion and thus manipulation like everything else.
There’s always bing but I like google :ducking: and they’re cutesy cartoons are better. They did have something for Veteran’s Day last year but what can you really do for 9-11? I just can’t look at those pics even after all these years.
9-11 memorial on bing.com
http://www.bing.com/
I made the switch to Bing several months ago and I only use Google on the rare occasion that I need a second search “opinion”.
That soo cool Monk did Google do that on their own or did you photoshop them
I not suprise did Google got busted for leaking identify of Chinese blogger who critize Chinese govt they got in trouble so they are bunch of wussies
Thatttt niceee picture on Bing.com
I made it.
Yeah it good Monk props to that
BTW I think Google just want tick off people so they didn’t commerate the 911 annivesrary
Those are good examples. OTOH, in keeping with Google’s colorful letter logo and Google’s previous special day variations on its logo, I still stand by my prior statement. Changing the background to a skyline of Manhattan with some sort of acknowledgement of the WTC twin towers (like the ask.com page) would have been a nice touch.
