A former Austin woman convicted of threatening to shoot local officials pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to making bomb threats against eight U.S. post offices in southern Minnesota.

In that case, Reineke showed authorities a list of eight people who received threatening letters from her stemming from her unhappiness with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. At that time, Reineke admitted she wrote about shooting the letter recipients, dismembering them and putting them in a box.

I wonder if she didn’t like the USPS due to the large number of postal workers who are ex-military.

“The Austin Daily Herald reported Reineke claimed in a 2007 interview that she suffers from borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and major depression.
According to state court records, authorities in Rice County sought civil commitments for Reineke as mentally ill five separate times between 1999 and 2006. Hennepin County also sought a committment for her in 1991.
Previously, Reineke served a 21-month sentence for terroristic threats on Jan. 20, 2004. She was released from prison on May 16, 2005 and her sentence expired on Aug. 30, 2005.”

It's tough on the young women ~ very distressing.
So I'm guessing that in addition to her borderline personality disorder she's probably working real hard on schizophrenia ~ she just hasn't gone that far yet ~ but she will ~ or they wouldn't be giving her one of the medications that causes swelling.
Best bet for folks like this is to keep them locked up, keep them comfortable, and don't argue with them!
Sounds like a perfect candidate for the 204B program.
