Parents in Revere(Ma)force vote on birth control and morning-after pills passed out in high school

Earlier this year the Revere School Committee dropped a bombshell on the community. Without any warning, they voted to distribute contraceptives and the "morning after pill" to students in Revere High School. As Kathy Magno, an activist in Revere, told us, this was done without any notice to the community. There were no public hearings. No sub-committee meetings about it. It wasn't even on the agenda that day. Massachusetts Law appears to mandate that school committees run these ideas by a committee of the town's citizens before implementing them. And every town we know of (except Revere) has traditionally had one these "advisory councils". Granted, many of them are shams, filled with pro-sex ed activists and Planned Parenthood people, but at least they exist and people know what's happening.

Unfortunately, that is changing. We're starting to see school officials make unilateral decisions, usually in secret, and just impose them without having to go through the bothersome steps of public input.

From the same state that gave us Ted Kennedy for 47 years. I should talk...we’ve had the Dodds for just as long.

Welcome to Onada World. We’re gonna see more of this as leftists, to include so-called public school “teachers” feel emboldened with The Marxist Onada occupying the WH.

First of all, I’m not sure why it would be obvious to me that your cousins are hispanic, and secondly, you approve of handing out the morning after abortion pill to children?

Im not agreeing on handing out to children but probably to teenagers and it is sorta obvious and sad that Hispanics have babies like crazy, I myself see it in the city I live..

My daughter just graduated from there. These things are typical of the those that make my head explode. It’s a wickid pissa Italian community. Don’t bleep with the mothers.

I am reminded of some move (High School, USA?) where the opening scene shows a line of teen girls... it follows the line to a nurse, who is handing each one a pamphlet in STDs, birth control, and stapling them together with (thru) a condom.

Sorry, I simply do not believe that morning-after pills were distributed by school authorities.

Hm?....Mere kids are judged capable of understanding the signs, symptoms, and (occasionally) **fatal** side effects of the morning after pill, but their parents are too dumb to be able to use a voucher or tax credit wisely.

UNBELIEVABLE!

When will conservatives wake up?
When are they going to get their own kids out of these Marxist indoctrination camps?
When are the **finally** going to understand that government schools are the very definition of socialism, and that SOCIALISM CAN NOT BE REFORMED!

We must close down the government K-12 schools. ( And, yes, I am shouting!)

I don’t know why this surprises anyone involved in a single payer education system.

Teenagers are children - and no one has the right to give drugs, legal or otherwise, to our children, period. They hand out condoms freely, but drugs should never be handed out without the parents knowledge and consent.

I wonder how eager school officials would be to repeat nonsense like this if a few fathers found the principal and beat the hell out of him? Just a question.

Neither should condoms. They are spending the taxpayers own money to help their kids engage in behavior they probably don't approve of. Why should that be done without consent?

You misunderstood me - I didn’t say I loved that idea either - but they do it already without consent. I was pointing out that this is an invasive procedure - putting drugs into a childs body is not the same, physically, as giving them a condom.
