The secrets of Obama's rhetoric
NY Post ^ | September 12, 2009 | Rich Lowry

Everyone marvels at President Obama's rhetorical prowess. But don't be overly bedazzled. With these 13 easy steps, you, too, can give a Barack Obama speech.

1) Create a false center. In his speech Wednesday night, Obama positioned himself between the left calling for a single-payer system and the right agitating to end employer-based health insurance. Presto -- he's the very definition of a centrist. Anyone advocating almost any position can benefit from the same insta-centrism.

But only the pathologically narcissistic can continually carry it over with aplomb. Amazing how so many unbalanced can walk among us unnoticed.

The secrets of obamas rhetoric......
He’s nothing but a con artist using the old ‘Have I got a deal for you’bait and switch’game. All he needs to complete the picture is a megaphone,a tent and three shells.

Obama is no mesmerizing speaker ...he should have payed more attention to Farrakan who is mesmerizing in his delivery. Obama is stiff and wooden in his speeches and those constant pong game head moves from teleprompter to teleprompter are pathetic. He is incapable of talking to the audience let alone capturing their attention or hearts.

RULES FOR RADICALS:

Keep your chin and nose UP in an exaggerated fashio when delivering a speech. This makes the serfs raise their eyes and THEIR chins when looking at you. Remember the gods and goddesses of ancient history....always on pedestals, alway oversized marble statues, always placed on high ground or atop temples, so that the slaves have to look up. Think of Mussolini on the balcony, Hitler on the high platform at Nuremberg, Obama on the raised dais at the contrived joint congressional session the other night.

RULES FOR RADICALS:

Pepper your speech with plenty of "ums" and "ers". This keeps you from rattling on too fast. Most importantly it gives time for the peasants and serfs to fully assimilate and understand each sentence you deliver. Keep moving your head from side to side as you speak. No one in the audience should feel safe from your cold stare locking in on him or her every few seconds.

RULES FOR RADICALS:

Don't step on your own applause lines like GWB did.

Fret not. The MSM reports these things with a total disregard for the truth. They stack a poll to get the desired results then delight in reporting them as news. I have no faith in them or anything they report. Virtually every story they report is done in a self-serving manner. And they are in full speed panic mode right now.

I never thought I would find a politician who more disgusted me then Bill Clinton until this guy came along.

Aaah. You have reminded me of Robin's Truism number 12: There is no bottom, only a gradual descent.

Fret not. President always gets a boost around 09-11 when people remember we are at war. Also, he got a huge boost from that fraudulently conservative speech he gave the students on Tuesday. The more he talks, the more people are going to realize he was lying for effect Tuesday. He is still negative 5 and I suspect that number will drop over the next 10 days.

No he is still -5. Better then -13 but he is still negative. Far better then his positive approval rating in June.

His speeches are like those of a black preacher. If that is rhetoric then have at it. Maybe the glorification of his talk means not that he is elevated but that we have sunk!

A very BORING black preacher!

If that teleprompter reading is the best he’s got, no self-respecting church would have him.

“Everyone marvels at President Obama’s rhetorical prowess.”

I don’t think he’s good. He’s boring and predictable.

You want good? Willam Jennings Bryan, Henry Clay, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Everitt Dirksen, the list is endless.

But not Obama.

TAKE ACTION NOW - NO MORE SITTING ON THE SIDELINES
The thing we have to do now, without any hesitation, is vote out this current Congress in 2010. Then take back our Nation in 2012. If we do not mobilize ourselves and others now to do this in ways far beyond where most of us have ever engaged in political matters, we will lose this country. And have ourselves to blame.
FRIENDS, WE CAN NO LONGER JUST 'PREACH TO THE CHOIR' -- WE MUST CARRY THIS MESSAGE TO ALL WE KNOW AND ACT NOW. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
